Nick Brooks is gone already

It's almost as if geographic groupings of the schools should be considered. Perhaps this would maximize fan interest as rivalries would grow among friends, relatives etc. living in neighboring states who cheer for those schools. Someone could even come up with fun nicknames for some of these games.

Ideally, two or three of the schools would be consistently good in the geographic grouping. That would ensure good competition among them, but also make it fun for the rest of the schools to try to beat one of the powers.

The main thing to consider would be limiting this grouping to a reasonable number of schools, so that every team could play each other every season. That way, every team would be playing to be the champion, and the best record at the end of the year would determine that.

The geographic grouping of teams maybe sounds a little weird right now, but I bet interest would only grow if this grouping stayed the same over many years and fans grew accustomed to the same teams playing each other every season.

Stellar post!

I don't know, sounds kind of out there. I mean, what would we even call these geographic groupings of teams?

I'm not a biologist or statistician, but I would suggest that maybe if we found 10 teams in the Great Lakes/Plains region we could maybe make a conference and call it, oh I don't know, the Big Ten. Maybe the teams in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma could possibly form their own conference and call it something like say the Big 8 or Southwestern Conference. Teams in the southeast could potentially get together and make something called the Southeastern Conference. And maybe 10 teams out West could buddy up and make something called the Pac 10. These are insane ideas that have never been considered, but surely someone smarter than us can come up with something workable.

You guys are nuts. Pretty soon you will be proposing that people will actually be able to converse back and forth in real time with their voices instead of snapping and texting. Complete fantasy. Give me a break....

What a novel Idea....
