Who should be the MVP of the NFL?

Someone last week asked the question - has anyone ever been MVP of the league and Comeback Player of the league in the same year? Manning has a shot at it. Peterson would too, but he really didn't miss much time. However, if comeback just refers to coming back from a serious injury, AP would be a good choice as well.

hope to have a prop bet up on fun wagers forum soon

they recently took this bet down because of adrians amazing weekend i believe

Without Peterson, the Vikings are 0 for the year right now. That is MVP. The dude is ridiculous. Would have loved to see him stay healthy in college.

Wow - tough call. Both Manning and Peterson have been amazing this year.

Rookie of the Year is a tough pick as well...

I'd say Manning for comeback player, mvp...hmmm, the broncos did win quite a few last year w/o him. Defense is pretty dang good there...All the more reason to give defense mvp to V Miller. AP has definitely lit it up in Minny, but not enough W's, and Watt at Houston is a beast. When is award/s given, before playoffs or after?

Um, i'll go manning for mvp :D and cbpoy and watt for defense. ROY is interesting as well...what a qb class.

ROY: Andrew Luck they are asking him to do a lot more than RGIII or Wilson.

MVP: AP, basically what farmer stated especially if the Vikings make the playoffs.

Manning for the following reasons:

1. Neck injury that forced him to miss a full season and still continued to recover in the Preseason
2. New team that was forced to become a run oriented team with Teblow
3. Although the West is pretty poor, they have 11 wins with two games left and a potential first round bye and home field if some things can happen.
4. Plays by far the hardest position in football

Pretty easy choice for me.

Two words for you why AP should be MVP: Christian Ponder

Well, if AP is all you got, you go with it. By that logic Troy Davis should have won the Hypesman.

Manning isn't all Denver has, but he has made them a legit Super Bowl contender and if you remember how people were wondering if they were better off with Tebow after 5 games...well, I think they are okay.

With AP the Vikings are 8-6, without him they are probably 2-12. He is doing this against 8 and 9 man fronts, so yeah, this is all I got and it's plenty.

You have the same argument for Denver without Manning. Vikings have had Peterson all this time and have made the playoffs with him how many years?

If the Vikings were not in playoff contention this season, he would be an afterthought for the MVP and their success has been more about their defense. Look at the game so far today, they are ahead 13-3 and AP has a whopping 40 yds, but the Texans that are so explosive. It is the Barry Sanders argument, we all knew he was the best RB forever, but he rarely had MVP talk because his teams were, well, the Lions.

PM didn't show up with nothing to work with. You do realize the Broncos made the playoffs last year, Decker/Thomas aren't exactly scrubs. Dumervil/Miller are arguably the best pass rushing duo in the league. They've had quality o-line play that goes back to the Shannonhan, Alex Gibbs days. On the other hand the whole Viking O is dependent on AP.

Btw, the Vikings have made the playoffs twice in AP's 5 year career.

depends on your definition of MVP then sportstalent. if this is like the heisman (best player on the best team 9 times out of 10) then it goes to Manning. if it is the player who makes the team decent even though they'd suck without him (like tomlinson with the early chargers teams) then it is AP.

you can't go wrong with either IMO, but i'd lean for AP. this isn't a lifetime achievement award, so throw out past records and all that.
