New uniforms next year

Those things look like practice jerseys. Not a fan.
 
I think it's great for recruiting. Whether we as fans care about it or not, the fact is high school athletes love to stay up on the current uniform trends and it may add to help in the recruiting department. Not a major factor, but may just be enough to win some recruiting wars.

I'm a high school coach and I can honestly tell you that there is a major display of pride when it's time to scrap current uniforms and switch to something new. Even something that the kids are totally unaware of, you mention new uniforms and they instantly perk up. And let's be honest, in terms of marketing a program and selling apparrel what better way to increase jersey sales then bringing in new uniforms.
 
I think we go back to the very tight short shorts. Opposing teams will not take us seriously and then we will have them right where we want them! Completely taken by surprise! Can you imagine being dominated by the team in short shorts.

Indiana, on the other hand, has made very few changes. The colors shifted more to scarlet and white for awhile, rather than crimson and cream, but other than that, the uniforms have stayed the same for decades.

Exactly. Every year there is some minor "tweak" to the uniform. I know for a fact that back in the Davis and Alford era's that the senior classes had a hand in designing that year's uniform.
 
I'd like to see the cursive Iowa from a few decades back.

I would also like to see the short shorts in some capacity. I am serious about that. I would use it as a gimmick. Iowa looks to have a strong team next season. Maybe Fran challenges them. They have to wear short shorts at every home game following a loss. Or something like that. Maybe it could impact recruiting, but I think it would create a little positive buzz. I also think it'd make the kids a little surly playing at home after a tough loss.

I think Fran could even have a little fun with it - offer the kids a reward every time they avoid wearing the short shorts. Maybe if they wear them less than three times next season the coaches have to run a 5k around campus in tiny jogging shorts.

The current ones (or, at least the ****** anyways) reminds me of the best Iowa regular season of my lifetime. They still suck though.

Id go with the old NC State unitard. Yes, that is one piece of fabric, similar to a wrestling singlet with shorts(skirt)over the bulge area.

If we went retro, I would be cool with the cursive writing, but NOT the short shorts. Give me the throwback jerseys that Iowa wore last year as our permanent jerseys. That would be pretty sweet.
