Me too. I feel the same way but honestly I would be shocked if it happened. If I had to choose between the basketball program and the football program of which I think it is more likely to happen, I would choose the basketball program. Fran is at least showing an upward trajectory. KF is like a pair of old shoes that feel very comfortable but their best days are behind them.

I'd like to see some programs about Iowa's success in the mid eighties with updates on where they are now. I'd also like to see some games from the Bruce King era.

We need an AD that has a pair that clank enough to dump the Clones in favor of scheduling some non-conf teams that are consistently in the Top-25. THOSE games would produce some memories. THOSE game would create some serious BUZZ! No way anything special will be thought of fondly 20 years from now about us playing ISU...over and over.

The Clown channel on mediacom is waaay worse than BTN. I think they played the 2015 Texas game 5 times in one day. Hell, they even play "moral victories" (read: losses). It's a little pathetic.

Is this true? I haven't lived in central Iowa forever now. But if they are playing losses as 'highlights' that's gotta be the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long long time

I'm good with it, as long as it's that "classic" from 2007. That game had everything. JC bagging about five completions, Tom Arnold as quasi-commentator, double OT, AY going off, Jevon Pugh getting the winning score.

Yup. They had on the 2002(?) FSU game where Wallace comes up short of the goalline on a late scramble just a week or two ago, and I'm sure they've played the 2010 Nebraska game or another one a time or two.
Hell, they even do it with basketball games, even though they have a moderate amount of success in that sport. There was one on the other night (can't remember the specific game) where the description on the guide basically said "the Cyclones battled hard in a valiant effort, coming up short".
I don't really like the "little brother" talk when it comes to ISU, but they make it hard not to use it, that's for sure.
That absolutely perpetuates the little brother moniker that they have. Neither their fans nor the powers that be at ISU should want that. They’ve beaten Iowa enough times the last 10-15 years that they could play those games on a loop…. Plus a handful of other games. Was that McCarney or another coach of theirs that once said they ‘won the 2nd half’ after having lost the game? Haha I mean that kind of attitude shouldn’t be propped up and embraced.
Nothing endeared Fry to the Iowa faithful more than when early on his first or 2nd year they’d lost a close hard fought game and he said that if any player came off the field happy and smiling he was going to kick their ass or yank their scholly or something like that. To in any way promote a losing atmosphere as being ok is just ridiculous. I don’t care who ya are or what school your talking about.
