Nebby calling out Texas video

It's now official, Forde no longer cares for Nebraska as they are soon to be in the slow & plodding Big Ten.

I think for now I'd be rooting for Nebby in that one. That game is going to be intense. Bragging rights probably for a long time. They will probably never meet again except in a bowl game. No way these teams agree to play each other out of conference.

I'd be careful what they wish for...

Every former Big 8 team is going to be circling Nebraska for their last shot at em this year too...

It is going to be great to have another team in the conference with fans that have the same kind of passion as most the rest of the Big Ten teams have. Definitely going to be a game to watch.

Too bad they couldn't get up for that game when they were in the league
too bad you have never had a conference rival. Too bad you will never play nebraska again. Too bad in 5 years you will be in the big sky. Too bad you guys rely on Iowa taxpayers for support. Too bad your stadium is tiny and ugly. Too bad you can't charge 90 bucks a tix to nebraska fans after this year. too bad your sports program is taking it up the A$$ from texas..who will eventually pull out (pun intended) and leave you in a fetal position with your underwear around your ankles.

740 posts and you have just as much rep as I do? Your argument is duly noted

I can't root for them too. I can't take hearing from them how they will dominate the Big Ten, when the fact remains that Nebraska hasn't beat a team that finished the season ranked since 2001. I don't see them doing it this year either.

They are overhyped and overrated due to their great tradition. But hype can do a lot for a program. With them being a neighboring state, if they ever did get their program back, it would be damaging to Iowa's. So I can't root for them.

I want them to lose all of their games this season, including to Iowa State.

It's easier for Nebraska to talk smack when the game is at their place. If the game were at Texas, I'd give them a 10% chance of winning. That being said, Go Nebraska!

For some strange reason I just can't seem to root for Nebraska. Not even this year.

I think you got to root for Nebby, it's a Big Ten team competing in the Big 12. If they win we can throw it in all the Clown faces that a big ten school won their conference. And everytime they want to talk conference smack we can be like will our 4th place team won your conference a few years ago! We can hate on em next year!

I'm not sure were you are hearing that talk at, but as a Husker fan, no one on the Husker message board I call home as ever once came out and said "Nebraska is going to dominate in the Big 10".

The Callahan era humbled this Husker fan, but Coach Pelini does have NU back on the right track, however it's foolish to expect a run similar to the mid 90's and any sane Husker fan would say that as well.

I'm grateful that the Big 10 extended an invitation to Nebraska to join the Big 10 and i'm real exicted to be a part of a conference like the Big 10 that is so full of great football tradition and rivarlies.

Back on topic regarding the video, i'm a little bothered by the fact that UNL is behind the video and website. It's one thing for a fan to do this, but I just think it sends a bad message that UNL is behind all of this. Fans on both sides as well as the media will have the game on super duper hype mode by October that IMO, the University shouldn't be adding fuel to the fire.

I appreciate your respect for the conference. Believe me, I have respect for Nebraska's history and tradition.

My conversations have come on other sites (not usually Nebraska boards). These NU folks believe that they are a step away from being elite. I too think you are on the right track, but I think there are a lot of team's on the right track, but that's still a long ways from great.

I think the fact that NU hasn't had a significant win since 2001, makes it hard to predict that they will be extremely successful in the near future.

I am sure we disagree, but I think NU is over rated and over hyped going in to this season. NU's biggest win last year, was a loss. There worst loss was to Iowa State. I can't rank a team in the top 10, if I haven't seen them ever win a significant game. I feel like the hype of being "NEBRASKA" is what is giving them such a high ranking.

Last summer on KXNO, the hot topic shows were top 10 kicks to the stones for both Iowa & Iowa St fans, well going back to 2006, Nebraska fans have had our fair share of kicks to the stones when it comes to having that "significant win" escape Nebraska (VA Tech & Texas in 2009, Texas Tech in 2008, and Texas in 2006).

You turn the ball over 8 times, 5 of them within 5 yards of the end zone and you don't deserve to win, doesn't matter if it's the Super Bowl, BCS Championship Game, or against Iowa St. That loss was just flat out embarassing.

I think the hype and buzz for the 2010 season comes from how the 2009 season ended and the job that Pelini has done with the defense in only 2 years. Yes Nebraska loses Suh, but 7 starters do return on defense, including 3 on the defensive line and 4 in the secondary. Not to mention that 10 starters on offense who started The Holiday Bowl return, which if the offense can do in 2010 what they did against Arizona, well there's your national hype.

What's so impressive about Suh was that he was a nobody when Callahan was HC and seriously gave thought to transfering when Callahan was fired.

Myself, all I want in 2010 is for everyone to be healthy (injuries on offense the majority of the year really hurt the offense) and another shot at the Big 12 Championship and after that, let the chips fall were they may.

I look forward to the rivarly that awaits Nebraska & Iowa in 2011.
