NCAA Championships - Day 2/Friday

Man alive, it takes some guts to comeback and take 3rd after losing a first round match. I wonder how many times it has happened, that is a lot of matches. If GG just so happens to do it, he'll win my heart back.

Lets not get ahead of yourself, but you're right. I dont' have a bracket in front of me but thats what 8 matches. He's a win or two away from AA.

Telford wrestled pretty good just one mistake let's remember guys Rey is a national champ and Telford is a freshman

GG taken down with 2 seconds left in OT. Above 157 we lack HEART! I think we need to get some kids with a better mental skillset in our room over the next few years.

You're right Pin, we are set at HWT for the next few years. He needs some work but hopefully experience will teach him. Just hope he's not another Gambrall.

I'm starting to get anxious for this new crop of recruits to get in here and change the mindset. There is a group of guys on our team that don't seem to be able to get their heads on right. What makes me mad is many of them are Iowa kids.

Also - i've defended Montell all season and would like to some more. People need to quit badmouthing him and realize how big a loss it's going to be. He's about to be a 3 time AA and just beat the defending NC runner up. He's also been a NC runner up. He's something like 32-3 this year. Anyone think someone else will step in and do the same? Not right away. I love Montell and am going to miss him. He's really turned his life/career around and gotten his head on straight. There are a lot of wrestlers on this team that could learn something from him... like how to wrestle (and win) close hard fought matches.

I don't get the whole Montell turned his life around bit. He broke some windows and drove drunk on a moped. It's not like he was a bad man or anything, just made bonehead decisions.

Here's to hoping he gets his *.
