You seriously need to go watch that play again... Stanley snapped the ball before anyone was ready because the play clock was running down....

1. he changed the play when there was no time left on the playclock.
2. At this point he should have called a timeout.
3. Instead he hurried and half a panic fired the ball before anyone one was ready.

This is spot on. Exactly. People are pissy with Fant for other reasons but this isn't on him.

I’m not much for benching starting QBs unless they are bad.

Today was a game for the taking with average QB play. He was about as bad as a QB
could be.

Mansell should have come into the game and Stanley should have been told it was going to be for two series.

If Mansell struggles then put Stanley back in and say it’s not our day.

If Mansell moves the ball then you tell Stanley this is about the team winning so Mansell is the guy for this game.

This is spot on. Again.

But listen carefully everyone. Kirk has no problem benching players during a game BUT never the qb. Why??? This is insane!

Because Kirk truly has some cowardly elements to his character. I will start and stop with the Rhabdo incident but there are more. Ya all get it? He does not want to deal with any qb controversy perceived or not.

Oh and he is pathologically stubborn. Only giving in to his son. Why just his son? Well because he is aiming to propel his son to the golden throne. Family first. Even before team.

I believe they had already committed to McCann and vice versa, but yes what could have been.

So maybe Hayden should get some credit for integrity?? And in fairness there weren't many offers for Brees. I believe he was coming off a knee injury.

The worse thing for nate Stanley this year was having people saying nice things about him. Complete side note. I'm not usually a blame the coaches guy. But you're 1st and goal at the 3 , with time left, run the dang ball

They did have a run play called, Nate Stanley channeled the awareness of Pete Carroll and tried to audible in the teeth of their student section when at worst we milk some clock by not converting. His decision making was horrendous and he is to blame 100% for that play not BF. Not sure I'd let him make anymore Audibles in the 4th quarter

Brees is truly the exception, not the norm for QBs. He's an absolute "diamond in the rough". He also blew out his throwing arm in the NFL which should have been a career ender. Instead he evolved even further. He's never mentioned in the same breath as Manning or Brady, although in reality he's just as great as those two.

As bad as Stanley played, and there is no way around that, IMO, he did lead us down the field prior to the awful interception. I give him credit for that. But he needs to find a way to adjust to difficult environments (i.e. road games in places like this) and quit making completely game wrecking throws and decisions.

Agree, just think Stanley should have just ran the called play. He was so quick to throw the ball away all game and chose not to on that play, with the game on the line. So much panic on that play. Except for the fake punt on the play at the half, I liked most of the play calling. If Stanley hurt his hand he should have left the game. He played better after the taping but it affected him. Coaches should have sat him while they checked his hand.

I’ll also give the guy credit for answering tough questions after the game. The reporters weren’t sugarcoating their words and he stood there and took it. Didn’t say much insightful but he didn’t shy away either.

Stanley is a choker. He makes mind-numbingly atrocious plays. Just a team killer. When it counts the most, he panics.

He's just horrible. His stats look good but when it's make it or break it, he breaks it. I've never seen an Iowa QB make the WTAF kind of interceptions and misfires that he has...just this season alone. They're like computer glitch throws. You can't explain them. And they're killing the team.

Just checked Wikipedia. Brees tore his ACL as a junior in high school. Despite a stellar senior season he only received TWO college offers, Kentucky and Purdue. None from his home state of Texas despite being the Player of the year in Texas as a senior.

Now legend has it he approached Hayden and his staff during our Alamo Bowl with a video in hand of his career highlights. We were already committed to McCann.

Hayden wasn't the only coach who was mistaken.
