I agree they did, the weather didn't help
Stanley came out an admitted that he should have called Time out instead of trying to rush the play.

Fair enough, but I knew something was off with Hayden's recruiting when he gave a scholarship to a guy from my HS. Dude was nowhere near Big 10 material.Just checked Wikipedia. Brees tore his ACL as a junior in high school. Despite a stellar senior season he only received TWO college offers, Kentucky and Purdue. None from his home state of Texas despite being the Player of the year in Texas as a senior.
Now legend has it he approached Hayden and his staff during our Alamo Bowl with a video in hand of his career highlights. We were already committed to McCann.
Hayden wasn't the only coach who was mistaken.
I don't doubt that. Hayden lost some top notch assistants and had his own struggles for sure.Fair enough, but I knew something was off with Hayden's recruiting when he gave a scholarship to a guy from my HS. Dude was nowhere near Big 10 material.
Pure Class. The guy tirelessly has worked his tail off for the last four years, and this is what you come up with?I think he is just dumb. He makes the worst mistakes I’ve ever seen
I’ll also give the guy credit for answering tough questions after the game. The reporters weren’t sugarcoating their words and he stood there and took it. Didn’t say much insightful but he didn’t shy away either.
If he would have redshirted, this would be the seventh game of his sophomore year. Stanley's a nice guy. Kirk is a nice guy too. Give them both a break.
And it wasn’t just a couple plays. That fucker under or over threw everyone, and from his first intentional grounding penalty I knew he was going to F us over. The rest of the team left it all out there but he fucked us. Nate Stanley isn’t mentally able to play B1G ball at even an above average level.
Let him transfer somewhere and start the next chapter of Iowa football. Even if Mansell sucks it won’t be worse than what we have now. Stanley should not be a Hawkeye after this game. Nothing but mental errors all day.
He cost us:
7 pts on the INT
7 pts when Hockenson was wide open
7 or 3 on the last int
We only lost by 6, guys. Stanley singlehandedly fucked us for 21 pts. That’s enough to hit the pine for the year.
they did, refs didn't give them the callThen shouldn't the coaches see that and call TO? Again everyone else on the team but Noah got it...don't know how you're not getting this.
There were several questionable things happen in this game with those wonderful people in striped shirts.they did, refs didn't give them the call
Nobody gets banned.I think we all knew Iowa’s D would play well enough for Stanley to win the game if he played well. He didn’t. He had a horrible game and he knows it.
Having said that, I have to assume the POS who made the above post has been banned. If not, I’d like to know why.
And all of those teams have five stars backing up five stars.Alabama, Georgia, Miami (and formerly Clemson) are just a few of the teams down here who actually play the backup and often replace the starter - even in the National Championship game. These coaches are patient, but not stubborn. If the starter is having an off day, eventually they don't hesitate to bring in the backup to try to change things up.
Perhaps Brian/Kirk could consider this strategy. Make it clear to the starter the job is theirs...subject to performance. Remind him they have a very good backup. Remind him that everyone has an off day now & then. Let them know the backup will be getting some reps regardless -the only question is how many.
no place for nice guys in football.
Oh people do get banned. Who was that guy that thought he knew everything about Iowa football that made fun of everybody on HN. You'd think I would never forget his name.Nobody gets banned.
