My Take: Move to a 6 team playoff

According to your playoff scenario, an undefeated Notre Dame team couldn't make the playoffs. Go to eight with the Power Five champs & three wild card teams.

I would be OK with ND not getting in. However, I am guessing ESPN would cry over that.

You can't go from 4 to 6. You would have to go to 8 and college football doesn't need a tournament. There shouldn't be byes in college football because that wouldn't be fair to the teams that do not get a rest week in college football. I'm fine with 4 if they select the teams objectively by looking at data like SOS, quality wins and such.
