My latest mock NFL draft

Definitly and I think they should go with Bowers. They were a successful defense with Julius Peppers why not start there again. I personally think their biggest mistake will be taking either of the Auburn players with the #1 pick and the biggest risk would be Patrick Peterson, but not because of talent but because its the #1 pick.

I disagree with pretty much everything in this post. Bowers was a one year wonder with a mysterious knee injury. He also hasn't impressed in workouts. Patrick Peterson is talented enough but would be a risk to take #1? Would it be risky to take him #2, #3? Thy doesn't make sense to me. Peterson and Dareus are the two safest picks in the top 10 in my eyes.

This is my opinion as well. Carolina's strength used to lie in its defensive line, so Dareus would be my first preference if I were in their front office. But Peterson is something special, the only hitch is that corner seems to be right up there with quarterback in terms of difficulty projecting to the NFL.

While Bowers may be a 1 year wonder, he actually started his Fr, So, and this past year so he has experience, Nick Fairley is a true 1 year wonder. As for Peterson, like TM stated, they are hard to project you could either get a Charles Woodson or a Pacman Jones. He has top flight talent and is great in the return game but I wouldnt use my #1 on him, I dont see him as a franchise player and thes what the #1 pick should be. I dont think anyone in the top 10 is a safe pick.

Where do you see Ballard going? Stanzi?

I think Christian Ballard will not last past the second round.

Stanzi is more fluid. He's in that third tier of quarterbacks. I would say the first tier is Gabbert and Newton. The second tier is Locker, Ponder, Dalton, Kaepernick, and Mallett. In that second tier Locker and Ponder are ahead of the others, so after those two I could see a team falling in love with Stanzi and selecting him ahead of a guy like Mallett, for example, or Stanzi lasting until later in the draft.

I'm not sold on any of the projected top tier quarterbacks in this draft. They all have question marks that I wouldn't risk a first round pick on. This draft seems to be defensive talent heavy so I'd get a difference maker on that side of the ball and take a less risky chance on a guy like Dalton, Ponder or Stanzi after the first round.

Haha...so, you are saying anywhere between the 2nd and 7th round. Nice prediction.

Let's be fair to Pacman, he was pretty good while he was in Tennessee. It was all of his off-field stuff that essentially ended his career.

Peterson is probably the corner I would be most comfortable with at #1 in a long time. I can't remember a better corner prospect that I've seen (I started paying attention in 2002).
