Glam Rock was a big thing in Japan back in the 1990's. Leading the way was the guitarist Rolly Teranishi with the band Scanch Rolly. Teranishi is on the short list of best Japanese rock guitarists. Their music was an eclectic mix of British and American 70's glam, progressive, and stadium rock. Influences are T-Rex, Queen, Sweet, Cheap Trick, Elton John, Led Zepplin, Rocky Horror Picture Show, David Bowie, and dozens of similar 70's bands.
