It doesn't work that way, unfortunately with the NCAA, it's hard to figure out why they do or don't impose penalties.

By that logic, anybody could pay the parents of players as long as they don't tell the player, but we all know that certain places wouldn't get away with that.

I'm pretty sure its a matter of hiring the right lawyers and knowing the right people in the right places.

Bingo. Auburn literally bought a kid and got nothing. After that the NCAA lost all credibility. Penalizing OSU will make teams more wary of self reporting, NCAA doesn't want that.

So they just turn a blind eye to problems at school so that they are more apt to self-report? Doesn't make sense.

At the very least I think some scholarships are going away. I can use the case of OU as an example. They found Bomar and Quinn doing things very similar to what happened at OSU. Stoops promptly kicks both off the team, destroying their preseason hype and likely a chance at the NCG. They self report, and still lost scholarships. The situation is very similar to OSU, except they didn't cover it up or beg the NCAA to let the players play(classy move there). If the NCAA uses precedent at all(which they should), you will have less to work with on the recruiting trail

Yeah, no doubt...Toledo? Jeez, they suck at football and never get any good football players. All of those players that go to MAC schools would ride the bench in the Big Ten. Heck I cannot even remember the last time a MAC school has beaten a Big Ten team.

Just curious if anybody else is hearing that Diamond is leaning towards OSU. I was hearing today that Diamond went on a visit with more than a few 4-5 star commits to OSU recently. The one save I heard is that after it that he still wanted to wait 2 weeks before committing (sp?).
 
I was walking down the sidewalk today and there was a guy a squatting there talking a dump right there. I just glanced at him briefly but in that moment our eyes locked and then he suddenly shouted "WTF ARE YOU LOOKING AT!!" .... and I was like wtf?

As for Diamond, OSU is very confident as Diamond was supposedly saying all the right things.
 
Schutt goes from one mess to another? I hope the NCAA cuts OSU's balls off. They run a rogue program for years, then bring in Meyer to blow smoke up a bunch of recruits ***** while having 2 staffs able to do the recruiting. I thought OSU was supposed to be penalized some how?
