Moore Gone at Michigan....

I watch his pods with Morehouse and they're good. I like Rob. He's a good dude but his beliefs just don't fit in the midwest on average and that's ok. One thing I do admire about him is he didn't use the easy button. Like him or don't like him, I have a lot of respect for people who are willing to blow their lives up for what they believe in. I don't know if I have the stones to do that. If he had just kept quiet he'd probably still be covering the Hawks like he was before.

I know he had freelance side gigs even before 2020 so I'm guessing he's still doing a lot of that. He did work for milesplit.com covering HS stuff which to me would probably be a lot more fun, if not as lucrative.

It's also a reason I don't like talking either politics or religion with friends (or non-friends for that matter). I know a lot of folks who hate people they'd otherwise be great friends with because of facebook or twitter posts. I'm not saying you shouldn't post that stuff, just that I'm not going to discuss it with you, give you my opinion, or try to change your opinion. I know what I believe, I act in accordance with it, and that's all I can...or will...do.
I also think he does quite a bit of HS football coverage, analyzing and ranking of HS players in the fall. At least he did couple years ago when my boys played.

Back on topic, the Michigan (interim) President basically said yesterday that they are investigating the athletic department up and down, and won't hesitate to let head's roll if there was other bad behavior. If I was that AD, I would not buy green bananas at the mess hall. There is also very little information on the coaching search. I am sure they are using a search firm, but it may be influx who is actually going to make this decision with so many people in limbo. What a mess. And I love it.
In a nutshell that entire place and situation is a shit show! What a mess.

I saw Joel Klatt on FS1 a while ago. He thinks Michigan's coaching search could be stretched out for a while because no one is going to want to take a job with an AD they're not sure will still be on the job. So it would behoove Michigan to go fast with the investigation.

Oh darn!

They'll just let Biff keep coaching.

This investigation thing with the AD is a legal matter that's outside the sports realm, it just happensto be taking place with sports department employees. I don't think there's any hurrying they can do.

I also don't think they have to have an AD in place to find a permanent coach if they can decide who will be making the decision on the hire. If they got a really big name, that person is not going to give a shit about who the AD is. Mike Tomlin doesn't need to worry about whether his AD is easy to work with or not. Likewise, an up and comer from a smaller school will take the job in a heartbeat because its Michigan and a lot of money. Satan could be the AD. Doesn't matter.

ADs are not some magical coach producer. Lots of smart minds can find a good coach and if there is a new AD that comes in after the fact, so be it.

If I were Michigan, I would not accept a gap year with Biff just because I think I have to have the house totally in order before I can hire a coach. Get some adults in the room and find your best coach and get him going now. But, because I hate Michigan (but behind Nebbie, Minny, Wisky, ISU, Notre Dame, and the SEC), I am fine if they keep being stupid for a year.

You are right and the investigation is being done by a law firm. There won't be any speeding them up and Michigan has said that they want a deep dive to find and root out all of the problems. As presitigious of a university that it is, they've got to be tired of having their name dragged through the mud time and time again.
