Moore Gone at Michigan....

It sounds like this was a pretty well known secret. The Detroit News has an interview with an undergrad student who said he'd heard the rumors this fall, and it sounded like to him something might happen right after UM had the bad loss to USC. Then seemed to die down (nice wins immediately after over Washington and Michigan State). So obviously anyone with any connection to the power circle knew about it too.

In my opinion, the powers that be (wealthy booster or two and/or trustees/regents) decided 8 losses over 2 years was enough and made sure the relationship become public enough that there was no turning back. It was time for a new coach, and they knew the lever was there to pull when needed.

I thought that too, but the timing was horrible. You'd think they wouldn't have waited until all the decent replacement coaches were locked down. UM is a pretty appealing job.

I know what you were referring too and I'll stand my ground that the public shaming is not deserved if she was the one who got assaulted. This is why many women don't report abuse and while I agree she shouldn't have been sleeping with a man that is married with 3 kids she still did not deserve to be assaulted and then shamed for it. Assault is ALWAYS wrong and she shouldn't have to suffer extra consequences for reporting it.
Some women don't help themselves. That's all I have to say on it.
We all know the tough girl in HS or even after that said shit to anybody, including guys, because they knew nobody would or should touch them. Sometimes they guess wrong. And, I'm not saying that is right because I would never act and I believe I taught my boys to never react, but not all are disciplined enought not to react. So, while I agree ya don't go there or assault any woman/girl, I can also acknowledge that sometimes they don't help themselves and shouldn't presume they can get away with it.

Now, I know and expect that you are going to come back to me and blast me in a response and that's OK. I get it.

Oops. I didn't realize the page was 3 pages beyond this response!

Now they are reporting that the woman having the affair with Moore was on the athletic department staff and received huge, huge salary raises the past 2 years. If this was a cover up, heads are gonna roll.

Harbaugh, Mr. holier than thou, ran a pretty sleazy organization it appears. If you do a deep dive, at least 6 of his assistant coaches had trouble with the law (several DUI offenses as an example).

There is just too much money involved now. Everyone looks the other way. And the Big Ten is at the forefront, chasing the dollars.

OK, servious question: Does Iowa really want to be a part of this?
The money thing I think is what broke the camels back. What I had heard is the investigation was done internally a few months ago and Michigan hired an outside agency to conduct an impartial investigation on things. Once the results were in and matched what they found they took action. Sounds a little muddy but I doubt the outside will hear all the internal details. Timing was not great but had nothing to do with portal because if Moore was fired the players can enter the portal anyway. Timing was due to the outside agency investigation completion. Michigan does not look good either way damage control is under high effect within the program for recruits and current players. Most likely won't see fallout until after the bowl. Sounds like internally the coach at Washington may be #1or Deboar at Bama. Heard Brian Kelley is not being considered. He is not well liked at Michigan for whatever reason

True, but I'm not sure a rich donor type thinks that way. A loss to Ohio State, no playoffs again, another shitty bowl again....get his ass out of here now!

I think more than anything the timing was for the independent investigation to help relieve them of any potential litigation and make things pretty cut and dry. It is possible Moore also had created some rifts within the Admin/donors and they wanted this rock solid to really end him.

A year from now and nobody will care.

I.e. MSU, Louisville.

Damage will.be short term and scum will rise again like the Phoenix.
