That last play wasn't on Davis, Vandy audibled to that play. It didn't even look like a WR screen, just had a WR in the flat

HE was doing the blocking. The play was still alive, the ball hadn't stopped moving.

It was the correct call. He was blocked/forced/shoved into the ball.
