Miller & Wolfgang: Predicting the Big Ten, Iowa Season

I like Wolfgang he's funny when he's not even trying to be funny, love his enthusiasm too.

Love the give and take. Can't wait to hear more from both of them over the next 5 months.

GO HAWKS!!!

Enjoyed it very much.

In the future I'd like to hear where they expect JU to get his minutes. Will it be at the 3 or the 4? I'm also curious as to who becomes the defense specialist to take May's place. I think many are taking his replacement too lightly and only focusing on his offensive skill set. If a guard or small forward starts to go off on us I don't know what our answer is at this point.

They talked about closing out games (one of my favorite subjects), and it still sounds like the plan is Dev will have the ball and will try to make something happen. Personally I'd like to know there are specific plays that we're cramming on that plan to get the ball out of his hands as an alternative option too. I don't need to know them or even who they are for, I'm just very afraid that we'll stand around watching Dev and wondering what he's going to do and hoping against hope he gets it done. I'd like to think we've got a few special sets ready where someone/s expects to be that guy and is up for and ready for that challenge. With no pure NBA talent closer we may be tougher to defend if other teams know they can't just focus on Dev.

I have thought about this a lot, too. We have a lot of talent on the team and the ball needs to be spread out quite a bit. It will be interesting to see how Roy Jr distributes. I am hoping his opportunities are limited to when the clock runs down, or he sees the gap & takes it. And not always RDM. That said, we should be all good spreading the ball at crucial times. More talent, that is better with more experience. This will be a fun winter!

DeShaun was a volume scorer. He wasn't a great athlete and was an awful defender. Between Ross, Scott, and Thompson I'm sure they can pick up the scoring while being a better overall defensive team. Throw in the Frosh Loving and improvement from Williams, McDonald and Smith Jr, Ohio State should be very good.

I'll buy that D Thomas wasn't a great defender, mostly because he was too busy carrying the team on his back making every shot imaginable. You keep telling yourself the rest and maybe it will come true.
