Miller: Hawks Can't Lose to UNI. They Can, but they Can't

I feel like if this happens we are about to get a little taste of what Armageddon will be like. These message boards will be uninhabitable for weeks, maybe even the rest of the season, because of the fallout...

Losing to ISU & UNI in one year isn't even fathomable....might as well board it up and call it a season.

Why? I mean seriously? If people didn't want this they needed to speak up sooner. The writing was on the wall for anyone who could read it.

BTW: Why not Minny to the discussion as well?

I went to the open practice and thought we were in big trouble. But I thought maybe I was missing something, that maybe they could get things cleaned up before the season started. I was wrong. The D has been pretty good, (although if Pantz hits a couple of long balls, we may not be praising them so much either,) but I can't remember the last time the offense was this bad. And with a Senior QB! What's next year going to be like? JVB looked good in practice in comparison to the other too. I'm afraid....I'm very afraid. Let's up for some serious development over the next year.

Maybe Jon should be the honorary captain for this week. This way he can beg them to win, so his life will not be a living H E double hockey stixs after the game.

If Iowa losses I won't feel bad for the team or the coaching staff they could have done something about it. My heart will go out to Jon having to work sound off.

I am getting rather annoyed with these ISwho fans that are relishing the thought of listening and watching the Hawkeye nation meltdown. I think most ISwho fans would rather see a hawkeye loss then a ISU win.

If it happens, really it is a confirmation of what we already suspect or believe to be true. Let's face it the NIU game felt like a loss - it showed the same stuff to us that the ISU game had.

You know what can survive nuclear fallout, right? You may be on to something ;)

The UNI game has the potential to be the football equivalent of the bb program's Campbell game last season.
A game we have no business losing.

I agree. It did feel like a loss. But you know we put a lot of guys in the NFL,though.

I fully expect Iowa to lose tomorrow. If we win, no one will really be happy, they just won't be infuriated.

If we lose, we might very well look back at this week as the one where KF's train left the station.

If we lose tomorrow it will represent an unprecedented level of incompetence in Iowa football's history, which is saying something. To lose to a team with 20 fewer scholarships, no comparable money/facilities/program support, at home, with our eyes wide open to the idea that it could happen is almost unfathomable to me.

It's actually nothing like that. That was at the beginning of Fran's second season, Fran was just starting to make it his program. Ferentz has been here over a decade, and this is where the program is, hoping to beat an FCS team. Outside of Iowa Ferentz is seen as nothing more than a vastly overpaid average at best coach.

In an unprecedented turn, even for Hawkeyenation, teh meltdown has started on Friday.

I swear, in some of your heads, we've already lost this game. How some of you can be so optimistic about our mediocre basketball team, yet so fatalistic about our chances against an FCS team is strange to me.

We will win, probably big. But if we lose and I have to downgrade my opinion of this team and KF to the point of accepting losses to UNI as things that just happen, I will freaking roid.

IF Iowa loses, which sure could happen, KF hot seat just exploded. UNI is coming in with momentum of hanging with Wisconsin, and winning last week. IOwa is looking for answers, and that will be evident tomorrow. I'd like to think JV will throw for 250 and receivers will run great routes, get open and catch the ball, but doubt it. I'd like to think the defense will rise to the occasion and stop UNI, but after watching ISU receivers get open all day last sat., not sure that will happen. Morris had a great day.,, others need to step up too. Iowa's front 4 need to get several sacks or at least pressure the UNI QB!!!
