Just wanted to post an analysis of what I thought about the meet last night.
125
Matt McDonough was impressive. Came out firing and totally dominated. Matt is wrestling night and day different than those first two meets.
133
Tony Ramos is going to be a fan favorite for years to come. He is always attacking and looking to score points.
141
Mark Ballweg-great match against an inferior opponent. Wasted little time getting to his offensive, and the move he used to pin the guy was beautiful. No chance that match was going into the 2nd period.
149
As some others have said he is just outmanned out there at this level. Did show a little bit of the funk he has, but Osterman outfunked him. Brands was visibly upset after the match as Chiri for the last 15-30 seconds had his head down on the mat.
157
Aside from the 5 point move St. John dominated. Whenever he takes a shot he just finds a way to pull it in. He is very smooth and he just wore out Cheza. Very aggressive and fun to watch.
165
Kerr looked flat, but found a way to win. I love watching Kerr scramble, but it would be nice to see him pick up his offensive attacks.
174
Lofthouse had trouble getting to the legs, had some good set ups just couldn't get through the head hands defense. I think EL will be just fine.
184
Easily the most exciting match of the night. Hinton came out slugging and Gambrall was ready to slug. Hinton didn't wrestle much (just a lot of slapping in the face). Gambrall did a good job of keeping his cool. Gambrall had a nice double leg too bad he finished it on the Iowa bench and not inbounds.
197
Luke looked good. Very aggressive and was able to finish his shots which is huge for him. For the second night in a row he totally wore down his opponent.
285
Rasing believe it or not was pretty aggressive. He took quite a few shots he just couldn't finish. It seemed like he was hitting a shot and then stopping. If he finishes just one of his attempts he wins the match.
