Who would have thought George Wine, of all people, would take up the misleading headine technique which is so popular today.
Nowhere in the story is there a quote from Fran, direct or indirect, saying that he hopes to emulate these 5. For that matter...there's not a single line from McCaffery at all...which refers back to any of these 5 Iowa coaches.
I like the reference to great Hawkeye coaches of the past...and Fran may indeed be thought of along with these 5 in time. But come on George...you're breakin' my heart. I thought you were one of the few left who told it straight.
