Matt/other radio personalities/fans that insist Stanzi knew

I find any of the above people mentioned hypocritical to say Stanzi had to know if they want to say that Cam Newton knew nothing about what his dad did.

Could Stanzi know, maybe. Did some of the teamates know about DJK probably. But a lot of people want to say well there is no proof(which I think is laughable) Cam Newton knew so you have to give him the Heisman is completely hypocritical and it really gives fans in the area the idea they are trying to sensationalize the current situation for ratings/topics by using different than their usual standards.

I don't know for sure whether Matt supported Cam Newton for the Heisman but I think he did. I know the morning crew on KXNO did and Murphy did as well.

Did Cam Newton know? Of course
Did Ricky Stanzi know? Of course

Does it matter if Stanzi knew? Not at all. Who cares if he knew. DJK is a big boy. Did Donovan McNabb have any control over TO? Nope.

my point was to show why a lot of central Iowa thinks radio hosts want to sensationalize the subject for their gain, and how they didn't use the same standard.

What I really hate about it is these guys are drawing conclusions from point A all the way to point Z without any regard for the entire alphabet of possibilities between the two.

A. Stanzi knew, Z. Stanzi didn't do anything.

First - point A is complete assumption. He could have known just as easily as he could have not known; no one except those who are on the team and hang out with those guys on a regular basis knows.

IF Stanzi (or anyone else for that matter) did know - who is to say he said/did nothing? What goes on with the team is for the most part private, as it should be. We all head the story of Angerer getting physical with a teammate for not putting forth enough effort - those kinds of things happen daily/weekly/monthly on a football team. Who can say Stanzi or someone else hadn't confronted DJK, told him to keep a lid on it, hang out with some different people, keep his nose clean (pun intended).

That's the worst part of it for me. First they are assuming he knew - which is a stretch. Second, they are assuming that not only did he not do the countless other things he could have with that knowledge, but he did one of the worst things he could do - ignore it. Two very irresponsible things for a sdportsradio personality in to get away with. Third and last - they are doing it in Des Moines. I don't condone all sports media to be hawkeye nuts, throwing Ferentz softballs throughout every presser, but that kind of irresponsible behavior should not be happing in the backyard of IC. Lincoln maybe - not Des Moines.

False.

I work in a department of 100 people. I spend roughly 45 hrs/ week with this SAME group of people. I could not tell you the what the majority of people do away from work. Sure there are some that I know pretty well, but the majority of them are nothing more than a business relationship. Now, if you can show me that DJK and Stanzi hung out consistently away from work, then he should know, but to suggest otherwise is making stuff up out of the blue. (and may get you a radio talk show. )

Wrong

You play college sports? I did. You know what your teammates are doing. You will never snitch on a teammate but you know what is going on. Not only are you playing a sport with them but they become your best friends. They are your family. I highly doubt that you feel that way about any person you work with but that is how playing on a college team feels, like a family. They are the people you hang out with outside of football.

With that logic I would assume you and the rest of the radio guys know where there wives are at all the time too.:D:D

Concur with this statement. Stanzi probably knew, just like Aikman knew that he was throwing a ball to a guy whose nose was holing out from cocaine use. Football teams at this level of competition spend too much after-hours time together to keep these things that quiet. These guys are like your family and you should try to help them, not rat them out and ruin their lives.

As far as I can tell DJK worked his butt off for this team, and his problem was just that. His problem and not the teams.

With this comment I assume you are not married? As a married man I may not know where my wife is at all times, but I am around her enough to know if something like drug use is going on.

Some of you really think that Stanzi knew that DJK lived in a drug house and hoovered cocaine and didn't mention it to anyone?

Really?

I find that very hard to believe.

I don't know what your issue with it is. Stanzi knowing is no big deal. Who cares if Stanzi knew? McNutt knew too! So did the OLINE, Clayborn, Sash, etc. They all knew. I don't get what the problem is. I just laugh at how naive people are for thinking they didn't know. When you play college sports you know everything about your family/team.

No you don't, and yes I played college sports and lived with a number of Iowa football players. I saw plenty of stuff that others on the team didn't know about, and was kept very private. (this was middle 90's)

Wrong.

I played a college sport. I had far fewer than 115 athletes on my team and I'd guess that I didn't know what 50% of my teammates did on their own time.

Using your family analogy, there are many instances of family members hiding secrets from the rest of their family. My brother was bulimic in high school and I didn't know about it and we shared a room.

You're not a Cyclone fan, and you're not looking for a conspiracy theory at every turn.

Yes, I'm painting with a broad brush.
