Matt Hoch

This is true Hoch is indeed on an official to Mizzou this weekend. I'd be surprised if he remained a Hawk.

A guy on the Missouri Rivals board is indicating Hoch contacted the Missouri staff and requested to visit.

What in the ^$%# is the Missouri program selling?

They get jumped by Iowa St. for a bowl game, even though they finished with 2 more wins, and yet they have taken Gabbert from Nebbie, Easterly from Illinois and possibly Hoch from the Hawks?

Again, what the #$%^?

I don't think they are selling, maybe more like buying...

I hope he spoke with the Iowa staff about it. If it's a surprise to them, then they have a history of cutting bait.

recruiting sucks sometimes...

Matt Hoch was one of the recruits I was most excited about.

Bummer...

IMO we have a GREAT crop of defensive prospects coming in next year and maybe that got to the kid. Hoch would have been great in this class (in switch is true) but I dont think it will affect us that much. The kid didnt want to be a Hawkeye so we need to trim the fat so to say and go with what we have. Our D-Line prospects coming in are BEASTS and I think we will be just fine........

Congratulations to him for playing with his brother next season.

However, both the Hoch brothers made a bad decision IMO. One is a OL and the other is a DL. Missouri has had very porous defenses during Pinkel's tenure and their offense is spread based which doesn't utilize OL for anything more than blocking for the QB.

Iowa has developed many DL prospects and fielded several top 20 defenses the past 11 years. And we all know how well OL do at Iowa. OL run a pro-style blocking scheme and run pulls, slants, stunts and draws. Much more highly regarded positions at Iowa. If they would have come to Iowa they would have developed more and been more productive.

When was the last time Missouri had a top 15 defense and offensive line? Bad decision but best of luck to them. Although, I don't think we will hear about them ever again nationally.

I have no ill will on this one. I hope he feels he's making the best choice for him. Iowa has certainly benefited from guys changing their mind in the past.

Any chance this is a mutual split? I'm not sure how many recruits the Hawks COULD bring in this year, but weren't they getting close to their limit at around 17? Maybe the Hawks are in a position of strength to clip a few guys, like Hoch, Ngoumou and Harrell? What do you guys think?

Edit: And if that is the case, could they be clearing out room for...SEANTREL???

There is zero percent chance the staff was wanting a mutual split. I have a brother who played college ball. It would have been tough for me to say no to a chance to play with him.

Why wasn't it tough from the start? Both schools were recruiting him from the get go...he could've made this decision MONTHS ago if that's what he wanted.
