Matt Hoch

if he decided on Misery that's his decision. I just hope he did it in the right way and informed the Iowa coaching staff he was reconsidering. I hate to think of a Kid raised in Iowa not at least being that up front.

Like Barrent and a few others, he's from the "Cyclone" side of the state. "Honor" and "commitment" have a slightly different meaning over there.

I certainly HOPE he was honest with the coaches about it. Not betting on it, though...

Any chance this is a mutual split? I'm not sure how many recruits the Hawks COULD bring in this year, but weren't they getting close to their limit at around 17? Maybe the Hawks are in a position of strength to clip a few guys, like Hoch, Ngoumou and Harrell? What do you guys think?

Edit: And if that is the case, could they be clearing out room for...SEANTREL???

Not the case.

we didn't want him anyway
now that's ridiculous. what i don't get though is OL and DL going to teams/conferences that don't utilize the big men. gotta be pretty tough to make it to the next level when you never have to run block/play the run.

What! Cyclone part of the state? Try Nebby for crap's sake.

Pinkel actually convinced him that he would play TE at Misery. Looks to me that Iowa was honest with him told him Defense was where he was best suited and he didn't like hearing that. He committed around 6 months ago. I would have thought a kid from Iowa would have been more up front than to de-commit this close to signing day. Oh well we will survive without him.

If the kid wanted to play TE and Iowa wasn't recruiting him for that, then he shouldn't have committed. But you know an 18 year old kid has a offer to play in the Big Ten it would be tough to say no. But when he sits and thinks about it more he really wants to play TE. So I don't blame him if that's the situation. If he wasn't solid on playing at Iowa, it's probably for the best he's not coming here.

It makes perfect sense to me. Mizzou's bowl games are traditionally played much earlier on the calendar than Iowa's, so he'll get an early jump on his semester break by playing at Mizzou.

Hoch must not know anything about Football if he decided to go to Mizzou.

Agreed. Their 30-10 record the last 3 years is embarrassing!! Hahaha

Agreed. I think Hoch said in an interview that he got to play offense a lot this year and that opened his eyes to how much he actually liked it. He committed to Iowa before this so it is easy to see the change of heart. Throw that in with his brother going to Mizzouri and I can understand it. Never like to see a kid go back on his word though

What was their record prior to that?
