mass firings need to occur after this game

--------I don't believe this for a second. Unfortunately it is much, much worse than that. This staff works very hard and still puts this turd out on the field.

That scares me worse than believing that they are lazy!

BTW, how many times can a team run to the short side of the field before figuring out that there are numerous better options???
Staff is still running to the short side. This question might not get answered for a few more years. Maybe 10.

Our team turned in its wings after NDSU. We're like Cougar, We've lost the edge.

Wisconsin has had 3 different coaches in the last 7 years yet still averaged 10 wins. it is possible to win with a coaching change.

I have long even a ferentz supporter. But this is unwatchable. If we lose in a close game, ok. But we got demolished in every aspect of this game. I would like for massive firings after this game, but really we just need to start with one. Fire Greg Davis and get him out of town. Completely stagnate on offense and isn't giving our defense a chance to get their breathe. I know we can't afford to fire Ferentz but there is nothing keeping us from making a change on offense.
I don't get it. The defense gave up big play after big play tonight. Six hundred yards of total offense to PSU and you want to blame the offense? Prejudice much? The whole team stinks from the head coach on down. Fire them all.

Getting rolled by a damn good, probably top 10 team doesn't warrant firings. The NDSU loss warranted firings. I know they will never fire Ferentz so I just hope for a new OC.
the stats warrant firings. 599 yards allowed including 359 rushing yards allowed. 30 rushing yards, 234 total yards offensively. Things aren't working on both sides of the ball. The michigan game will be a bloodbath.

I think the entire staff needs to be fired.

I feel sorry for the 2017 recruits that have agreed to play for this dumpster fire program with not being able to take other visits. Maybe Eno Benjamin & Chevin Calloway have seen something with this program to the point where it has angered the staff.

We need P.J. Fleck as head coach and Dan Gable as athletic director.

Mr O - long time ... But I'm 100% onboard. This was 2 weeks to prepare to get your ass handed to you from the opening KO. Sucks way worse than the Stanford thing.

Yep - Michigan coach will not lay down and die to keep the game close like some team's coach does. Bloodbath is kind .... that game will be 93 - 0

Add to the fact that Jim Harbaugh is going to want to destroy us to make a statement going back to his playing days.

Yeah its going to be a bloodbath next week and we deserve it.

I hope coaching changes discussions begin to take place within the university next week.

30 yards rushing. 1.2 yds per carry.
Last week we had 83 yds rushing.

I think we need to fire the O Line coach and the running game coordinator.

I forgot to add...
We had 34 yds rushing / 1.4 yds per carry against North Dakota St also.

For years a physical, dominating O-line was our trademark.
But now It seems the biggest problem on this team is the O Line. No size. No Talent. Bad schemes. Bad execution. Can't run block. Can't pass block.
Possibly the worst O-line in Ferentz tenure.

When did Brian F come to Iowa? Is this year's line & running game the culmination of his coaching & recruiting?
Seems like if he was anyone other than the coaches son, he would be fired based on the disaster we have on the field.

Ding-Ding....we have a winner here. BF sucks and to think the media had the OL rated #1....Ha

I would tell GD sorry dude you're retirement age you're gone. Let his son call plays see if anything gets better the remainder of the year. We need to know asap if BF can run an offense. Might as well do it during a dumpster fire seasson.

It's the recruiting....that falls under the Coaches responsibility I'm afraid.

Who has BF recruited?

UM is going to kill us. I expect KF to run out the clock the best he can from play 1

Nothing is going to change. Can't believe last year even happened.

Oh come on.. This staff does nothing to react to what other teams are doing on the field. Last night was a prime example. Watch the damn game over and see if Iowa changed anything to control the "read option". Any clown off the street could see what Penn State was exploiting and we did nothing to react. Also, Bo Bower covering their best back in space? It was a comical performance by an inept staff. What does Iowa do from game to game, offensively, to give other teams something to prepare for? Absolutely nothing. Iowa had two full weeks to prepare for Penn State. What in the "F" did they do with all the practice time?

Kirk needs to being back a couple more of his sons to help with the offensive line. He could pay them $600,000 each, too, since the Iowa athletic department is swimming in cash.

Ummmmm, that is what I meant when I said it is way worse than that (being lazy).

The cold hard fact is. Iowa is getting beat by superior athletes. I'm not saying Iowa doesn't have some really good football players on that team. In fact there are several, but as an entire team, they are getting out maned across the board. I know taking walk ons and turning them into good football players is rewarding/fun thing to do, but it only works about 30% of the time, if that.

Yes, the system sucks and some changes need to be made. I know this is cliche but garbage in garbage out and if you don't change anything. How can you expect a different result? IMO, it seems to fit what we are seeing.

One thing you can't do is let these superior athletes slip through your fingers for reasons as superficial as in the Eno B case.

I know, rules is rules but another cliche. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I just don't see the staff at Iowa being flexible enough to right the ship.

.

This is the total key.

It's funny how people blame O'keefe or Greg Davis....

This team is always bad on offense and it's the head coach.

I agree. However, the Ferentz/Davis dynamic duo has taken the offense to a whole other level of bad.

If we had at least the output of the Ferentz/O'Keefe dynamic duo we probably don't lose to NDSU or NW.

I'm with you. I think the staff works hard and is dedicated. They are hamstrung by the philosophies in X's and O's and in recruiting, decreed from the top. My concern is that if ferentz were to fire davis, for example, it'd just be going through the motions and he'd only mold the next guy into his philosophies. Does anyone think ferentz would hire a young, up and coming, innovative OC? I don't. Perhaps now is the time to make bf OC so that he can prove he isn't ready, or different than what we have now.
