Martin OK'd

Has him not knowing a definitive answer impacted his practice, or better stated, how the coaches have worked him into practice?

“There’s plenty of opportunity (to get him ready). It’s not like you’re stealing (practice) reps from somebody else. So, to me, the only thing you can do is operate under the premise that he’s going to play for you. You have to get him ready,” Ferentz said.

Precedent?
Maybe if the NCAA was at all consistent you could use precedent as a predictor.

That’s the whole crux of the issue, is that they’re too inconsistent and closed off for there to be any reliable precedent.

Well Kick off is quickly approaching. They need to make a decision reasonably quick as it is unfair to the coaches and player to drag it out. That’s practice time wasted if denied.

Sounds like the request was sent in late. Even so how long does take to read the request and make a decision? Would definitely improve the threat of passing the ball and likely soften up some rushing lanes for a running back.

NCAA is conferring with Harbaugh to see if OM may have procured any pool or sleepover pics that went a little "beyond". If they can't get them, case closed, OM gets waiver!

What makes one person wrong and the other not? Neither one will reveal the source so it’s just a trust based model. I’m by no means doubting Robs contacts But what makes his source the only reliable and fully in the know on all things?

Has Ghawk posted false information before? I don’t know that but to say because Robs source says no that it isn’t valid is pretty high and mighty.

To be clear I love this site and Rob is fantastic But doesn’t mean he always knows first and OP is wrong. Time will tell

If I had to guess Rob's source I would say its family of Martin. Which is why he didn't want to bother the source with a rumor. My guess is your source is a booster that happened to guess correctly that Martin would transfer.

I think if Mr. and Mrs Martin(yes I know them personally) knew the decision, they still aren't saying anything, even to a reporter until Iowa makes the announcement. Do I have any info, no because I have not asked. It is a personal matter for them and Oliver until it isn't.

Precedent = Blue bloods get waivers approved, non-blue bloods do not.....
Eveidence, or anecdotes?

Not antagonizing, it's an honest question. I don't know if there is data out there to support blue bloods getting better treatment or not.

Probably not a large amount, but a small wager, probably.

Heard from this source about the Martin transfer before the news leaked out. Didn't report that. Maybe I should have.

Like I have said, nothing is official until we hear an announcement, but this is a message board and the guy has been right in the past.
Yeah I heard from a close friend of OM's that he was looking at transferring back to Iowa in April or May, but didn't want to share anything here because of how quiet his family is and something like that could have been sabotaged. I could see people stalking him on twitter. The news was just too big to jeopardize anything

Well I talked to the guy that mows their lawn and helps with their garden and he said he hopes it rains soon. ;)

I’m waiting for the sanitation truck to come pick up their garbage to see what he thinks. o_O If he is wearing anything Hawkeye I like our chances. If he is wearing anything Michigan then he is a loser. :p

One problem is there is no definitive list to find the info. But...O$U: Justin Fields (this year, from UGA); Michigan: Shea Patterson (last year, from Ole Miss) and a kid from Tennessee (not sure which year), who TN Coach Pruitt stated he wrote a letter on the kid's behalf. but has a Michigan transfer this year STILL waiting to hear.. Those are pretty high-profile cases. And you would be hard-pressed to justify Fields and Patterson as anything OTHER than "playing time". Those are some recent anecdotes, along with Illinois having a player from UGA denied, and the Michigan kid that went to Ga Tech denied.

The "optics", certainly, seem to favor the bluer-blooded schools.

Don’t forget martell

Was just told Martin got the OK for this year. Announcement should be tomorrow. This came from a pretty good source, but obviously nothing is 100% till we get an official announcement.
I can confirm this as well.

Nah, they found out last week. Not sure why they're waiting to announce but it's a done deal.

I like the strategy, don’t tell anyone until September 14th at 2:58 central time. They don’t need him against Miami or butgers anyway. The clowns will never suspect it. Install a few plays for OM, good guys win big in Ames.

Oh...one more thing. Did you guys know Brock Purdy had an Alabama offer?

Rob said he was told by the U and by the family that they knew nothing, you say you know first-hand, so let us know which one was lying. If not, this is just another @GHawk guess.
