If a person is/was not intimately involved with the process and/or has absolutely no facts of the situation how can it be anything more than a 50/50 shot?
Precedent?

Has him not knowing a definitive answer impacted his practice, or better stated, how the coaches have worked him into practice?

Maybe if the NCAA was at all consistent you could use precedent as a predictor.Precedent?

That’s the whole crux of the issue, is that they’re too inconsistent and closed off for there to be any reliable precedent.
Well Kick off is quickly approaching. They need to make a decision reasonably quick as it is unfair to the coaches and player to drag it out. That’s practice time wasted if denied.
Sounds like the request was sent in late. Even so how long does take to read the request and make a decision? Would definitely improve the threat of passing the ball and likely soften up some rushing lanes for a running back.
What makes one person wrong and the other not? Neither one will reveal the source so it’s just a trust based model. I’m by no means doubting Robs contacts But what makes his source the only reliable and fully in the know on all things?
Has Ghawk posted false information before? I don’t know that but to say because Robs source says no that it isn’t valid is pretty high and mighty.
To be clear I love this site and Rob is fantastic But doesn’t mean he always knows first and OP is wrong. Time will tell
Eveidence, or anecdotes?Precedent = Blue bloods get waivers approved, non-blue bloods do not.....
Yeah I heard from a close friend of OM's that he was looking at transferring back to Iowa in April or May, but didn't want to share anything here because of how quiet his family is and something like that could have been sabotaged. I could see people stalking him on twitter. The news was just too big to jeopardize anythingProbably not a large amount, but a small wager, probably.
Heard from this source about the Martin transfer before the news leaked out. Didn't report that. Maybe I should have.
Like I have said, nothing is official until we hear an announcement, but this is a message board and the guy has been right in the past.
Eveidence, or anecdotes?
Not antagonizing, it's an honest question. I don't know if there is data out there to support blue bloods getting better treatment or not.
One problem is there is no definitive list to find the info. But...O$U: Justin Fields (this year, from UGA); Michigan: Shea Patterson (last year, from Ole Miss) and a kid from Tennessee (not sure which year), who TN Coach Pruitt stated he wrote a letter on the kid's behalf. but has a Michigan transfer this year STILL waiting to hear.. Those are pretty high-profile cases. And you would be hard-pressed to justify Fields and Patterson as anything OTHER than "playing time". Those are some recent anecdotes, along with Illinois having a player from UGA denied, and the Michigan kid that went to Ga Tech denied.
The "optics", certainly, seem to favor the bluer-blooded schools.
I can confirm this as well. Was just told Martin got the OK for this year. Announcement should be tomorrow. This came from a pretty good source, but obviously nothing is 100% till we get an official announcement.
He's trolling. You took the bait.Uhhhh, what?? Why are you confirming it?
Nah, they found out last week. Not sure why they're waiting to announce but it's a done deal.
