Getting into journalism, did you know it would eventually lead to defending the veracity of your reporting to someone named pootspot, or did it just sorta turn out that way?

Anonymous posters on this site and social media make my job very rewarding. It’s just like I figured when I started with a notebook, pen and mini-cassette recorder back in the early ‘90s.

Different source, one who had good info for awhile but not current, which is why I reached out to this one after that. I learned from that situation which is why I got someone closer to the situation, about as close as I could get other than OM himself.

I’m leaving the thread up because it serves as the catch-all for what are sure to be more bogus reports in this topic.

Common sense says a decision will come this week if NCAA has an decency, which is debatable. He either gets cleared or doesn’t, which gives someone trolling a 50-50 shot at being correct. Everyone is in the edge of their seats waiting for word, which makes people more likely to buy it, especially if it’s good news.

My source said he or she would let me know as soon as word came. I’m not going to bug he or she every hour. As of last night, they were hoping to hear by tomorrow (Tuesday).

It’s a fluid situation.

Since they are going to let you know as soon as they find out, I assume that means they are good with it going public as soon as they find out, instead of sitting on the info for a day like the OP suggests?

I hope they wait a couple weeks to tell Gary Barta and the rest of the athletic department. He’ll ruin it somehow. Just let the fanbase and kelton Copeland know quietly and run him on the field Saturday.

Did you leak the Andrew Luck news last night in the middle of my FF draft after Luck was already selected in our 5th round.. You F'er!!!!!

True story...my draft was on Saturday night and right after Lamar Miller got drafted his got carted off the field. Then shortly after our draft ended Luck retired. Had we just drafted an hour later we woulda been fine, but it was pretty funny

That's what he or she told me. That doesn't mean when word comes down, he or she will rush to let me know. And it could, and I always thought would, be broken by UI. Its compliance department will find out first.

I don't think they're going to sit on this news. They want it out as soon as they find out.

Original poster probably a State or Nebulous fan, disguising as a Hawk fan. Wish these people would just be banned with the IP address recorded. Clutters up the board with crap.

Pulled this off Hawkeye Report dot com

Hearing a strong rumor that Oliver Martin is getting immediate eligibility at Iowa tomorrow. This is going to put quite a dent in the “Harbaugh is blocking transfers” narrative if true.

False. If Martin gets cleared, that doesn't prove that Harbaugh didn't try to muck it up. It just means the NCAA thought Martin's case was strong enough to clear him to play.

This whole thing is an echo chamber. The original "report" came from some unknown twitter account called KJAY News (with a whole 160 twitter followers). Then, amazingly, folks on HawkeyeReport and HawkeyeNation started saying that they had a "source" that OM was cleared and it would be announced tomorrow....again, amazingly the same as the original twitter report said. After that, it all becomes an echo chamber between message boards, twitter, etc.

As someone said earlier....it's all a RickRoll at this point.....

Sheer odds say that there had to be people who drafted both.

I agree. But on a side note...just because someone has more followers...it doesn't make their "reports" more valid.

Was it last night at midnight or should I stay wake tonight until it's on the CNN ticker at midnight for my trusted source?

Well Kick off is quickly approaching. They need to make a decision reasonably quick as it is unfair to the coaches and player to drag it out. That’s practice time wasted if denied.

Sounds like the request was sent in late. Even so how long does take to read the request and make a decision? Would definitely improve the threat of passing the ball and likely soften up some rushing lanes for a running back.

Rob, you should at least change the thread name. (add "Unconfirmed Internet BS").

I get why you left it up, but its BS to get someone of us excited when we log on......
