Means nothing really, other than this is probably the first time Iowa has been 'in' in one of Lunardi's bracketology snippets since at least Alford's last year, if not the year before

tx Jon. Now all is well here in Hawkeye Nation now that ESPN's Luny has blessed Iowa and invited them to the Big Dance.

so, i honestly don't follow ISU. i thought they were supposed to be good. did they not do so well in the non-con?

Is it a blessing or curse?

If Iowa were to start the BIG 2-1 and get ranked, it could be bad. There were some teams that Davis had that every time they got ranked when they were actually not really good teams and subsequently tanked for a couple weeks at a time.

It is good though that they are at least still being considered heading into conference play, starting to reverse the trend.

Positive press for Iowa hoops is a good thing. Don't run away from lofty expectations. The goal is the dance and if the Hawks take care of business, they will be dancing!

They lost to two ranked teams and at Iowa. The two ranked teams: Cincy (8th) and UNLV (20th), each is pretty good. ISU is going to do well in a weak B12, but that only bodes well for Iowa.

Is this serious? Grow some balls man and stop being afraid of success.

Yeah, it is serious, sometimes success too soon is a curse.

For the record, I have picked Iowa to the NCAA tournament since the season ended last season and upset IU/MSU. Also, heading into last season, I called postseason with a shot at going to NCAA with no terrible losses. Oglesby scoring double figures, Gesell leading BIG in assists during conference play, just a couple others...just sayin'

I'm confused, are you bragging about being wrong on multiple predictions?

I don't understand what you said, being afraid of success...the point I made was teams at Iowa have gotten ranked when they weren't great and have subsequently failed. It isn't about being afraid of success, it is about handling success and Iowa is young and hasn't had much of it lately.

Does this team have the mental makeup to handle success, if they win on New Year's Eve we will find out?

As far as predictions go, it is what it is, something to look back on and see how things turn out and as far as being wrong, oh well. We'll see about this year's predictions.

You just never know with young teams. We're starting three freshman. I just hope they survive the first 10 minutes against Indiana, because they have never faced anything like that before.

I agree 100%. Hopefully this game will help them see and prepare for what's in store the rest of the year.

HerbyRedHawk is going to chew you up and spit you out! How dare you hate on these Iowa players by calling them freshman! Fran is 3-1 against Indiana, that clearly gives Iowa a 20 point advantage in this game. Not to mention it is at home so that is another 20 points. I am calling it, Iowa 85 -Indiana 45. Stay turned for the Michigan prediction, you will want to see it before you place your bets in Vegas!

Sportstalent were you drunk last night? Do you know who Iowa plays in there first three games? I'm slightly positive the other teams roster matters more on how Iowa plays over the, "OH NOOOSSS WIN CURSE". I know everyone has their own opinion, yatta yatta yatta, but can we please refrain from huffing glue before posting? It's not good for your brain or those that have to try to read this incoherent mind scramble.

How the heck is beating 2/3 first B10 games a bad thing? Yes they'd most likley they'd have some come down to earth defeats but if they further began tanking, that would be bad because of just that. Not welp, they shouldn't have started out, 2-1, they were asking for it.
