Literally JUST got this text.... and permission to post

Like me or not, most of you know I don't spread false rumors here, and I have sources within the program. I think JM (if he still comes around) will vouch for me.

"If they don't keep UM game competitive F is gone at the end of the season"

I'm not going to lie, I had blood moving upon receipt of this text.

Does this hold as much weight as when you said you were done here until KF was gone?

Cause that was iron clad.

Why do you think that? As long as he has complete control of the team, he'll stay on.

Hey, I might've hit on something...Have the University decide the fate of some KF's coordinators and their replacements since they can't fire KF outright. Take some control out of the hands of KF.

There we go. control without control is not control at all. you may be on to something here

Do we know that Barta can fire any of KF's yes men????

If he decides to retire, he'll negotiate a ridiculous parting package. Either way, millions will be paid to get rid of this horrible coach.

It sucks that this could have been the season that really got this program going. With the new facilities and good recruiting, all we needed to do is go 9-3 and we could have been rolling. Instead, Kirk goes back to ultra conservative on both sides of the ball and trie's to bore NDSU and Northwestern into a koss. He losses both games, losses the team, losses his recruits, and losses all monentum.

Barta has the power to fire Brian???

Here's how that would go.

"Brian, you're fired." Gary

"Gary, you're fired." Kirk
No idea. But I thought that was the ruse that they used to show transparency (or some BS) when Brian got hired over a reported 101 other offensive line coach candidates as the best candidate for the Iowa OL coaching vacancy.

But I don't know how that works in reality.

I would like to see it happen. But that 573 page contract probably limits Gary's power to deciding each off-season between giving Kirk a 10% raise; 25% raise or 50% raise.

I think that because I'll allow for the possibility he actually may not like to see the program tank and/or he may feel he's no longer competent.

The problem is he really sees Iowa as a place that should only expect 6 wins per year. Listen to his pressers. He's actually impressed he gets to 7 wins as often as he does.

I mean, I see how this is really easy to say (especially now when we're all pist) and I guess it COULD be true.
But I don't believe he's happy with 7 wins personally/internally
