Inmates running the asylum?
I don't post often, so you can disregard if you like. I have heard the past week that Barta has been making what you might consider to be some cash calls to some of the heavier hitters, with regards to the basketball situation. I saw another post on here that says some folks within the athletic department offices are also pleading with Barta to make a change. I have heard the same because their ability to raise finances is going to be impacted if they don't. I really think this is a matter of Gary and Todd speaking to discuss some degree of a settlement, and how it will be presented to the public. Todd has the contract, but he also doesn't want to leave in 'shame' if you will. Sort of a 'peace with honor' type of discussion taking place, with the health situation being a possible 'scapegoat', real or not.

seriously? that almost sounds like it has been in the works for a while if that is the case. and IF that were the case maybe that was part of the cause of the horrible final stretch of games, why play for a coach who isn't going to be there next year.

I don't either but it's causing quite a storm over there. He's only emailed selected pay members they they agreed not to say who it is.
He said it's a hire that would make your "jaw drop".

Did you get the email? Because you just posted a name in the "who is Iowa's next coach" thread that I have seen floated around before. And it did make my "jaw drop" as in who the hell is he.

I'd love that, but seeing as how he's almost everyone's number one choice, it's pretty easy to imagine that being complete BS at this point. I'd love it, but I'll believe it when I see it.
