That's what has happened today.

I'm not saying thing will or will not happen.

But the rumor mill went off the hook today.
 
Without a doubt that appears to be the case. The interesting thing is all of these rumors must have created additional pressure for Barta.

That's what happens when a program just suffered through the worst 3 year run in it's history. Anything that looks like "hope" is going to be taken and run with.....probably farther than it should.

On the flipside, if there was no basis to these rumors whatsoever, Barta would have squashed them immediately after the game. Instead, he directed his staff at his suite to inform any reporter who wanted access that he wasn't going to be talking. Then he comes out with a statement that shows ZERO support for the coach or his staff.....merely mentions the players.

He gone.
 
Wonder what KCJJ is thinking now... Wonder if the got a personal phone call from anyone at the University today or this evening..
 
I think a couple of people had some good info...and probably should have kept it to themselves in hindsight.

When things are this bad it doesn't take much of a hint of change to send us all into a frenzy.

I agree.

I'm not condoning what's been happening today, but the University should take note. This fan base seems eager to be done with this Lickliter.

Yeah. Yet during the day when I was telling everyone to calm down, no one wanted to listen.

And you guys wonder why I act so arrogant all the time? When will you learn children?

As I wrote in a column I just put on the front page, its like we were at a critical level wildfire risk, and somebody dropped a cigarette. However, I cannot possibly believe that everyone was just chasing shadows and echoes.

Oh trust me, I talk the talk and walk the walk.

Still, with the collection of short-sighted "passionate" fans around here, being the smartest guy around doesn't have the same good feeling it does when you're around, you know, normal people. Owning the whiners here feels shameful, like beating a 6 year old in Trivial Pursuit.

I did say I was adamant that he would stay. I will admit, I am not so sure.

I am 100% on one thing though. I knew he wouldn't be fired today, and he won't be fired tomorrow, and if he is fired, it won't be for a little while. Trust me, 95% of the people posting here today were sure Lick was as good as fired today. I knew that wasn't going to happen. I have a good source on that story...it's called common sense.

Im with you on that. I posted last night and early today that I heard rumors he was going to be gone but to take them with a grain of salt. Once all hell broke loose i monitored the board because all of the sh*t flying was incredible to watch but didnt post much because it was impossible to know what was true.

After reading/hearing/talking about all these rumors I'm worn out and really wouldnt be surprised with what happened next. My opinion from what ive heard is that hes gone but it wouldnt be the 1st time i was wrong. On the other hand if he is fired this would be the 1st time that Ghost has been wrong. Isnt that right Ghost? :)
