Point forward

I see Providence has two top 25 recruits. . . who is their coach now? Also bravo to VCU and Wichita St., it's good to see how many kids are not going to the "name brand" schools.
My revised starting lineup for next fall.
Gesell - pg
Gesell - sg
Woody - pf
Woody - sf
Woody - c
By god you should send that to.Fran....it's golden.
Don't expect much..
I love how Iowa fans aren't allowed to expect things out of their top 100 recruits, but with every other fanbase it's OK. I'm not expecting Woodbury or Gessell to set the world on fire, but I absolutely expect them to play 15-20 minutes per game at a minimum and put up decent stats. I think 6 and 6 with at least 1 block per game from Woodbury is a very reasonable expectation, and 8-4 from Gessell.

i dont think anyone says dont expect anything from them. i think there are people that are expecting program changers from day 1 and that is unrealistic as it happens very rarely. like an expectation of a double double from a frosh is outlandish as very few do that as juniors and seniors.i think 20 min is expected from them. and i can see 6-8 pts from each and 6 rebs for woody and 4 assts from gesell. my theory is dont get upset if they dont get those numbers and call for their benching as people turned on basabe when he was struggling or didnt want jo shooting/playing when he was missing shots.I love how Iowa fans aren't allowed to expect things out of their top 100 recruits, but with every other fanbase it's OK. I'm not so sure anyone in this class has to be a game changer for the addition of this class to change the game.
Iowa has some good returning talent that has been playing together for a few seasons. To that we add depth, address major weaknesses with this class with talented kids.
Individual stats aside, this group I think will change the game right off the bat. $.02.

I expect just right...
I was joking. I've been a big supporter of Woodbury and Gesell and I do believe they are program changing type players. Woodbury will average at least 8 and 5 and I think Gesell with average around 8 and 4. I think the bigger impact though is what there presence will mean to others on the team, especially Marble and Basabe. Iowa fans try to dumb down our recruits for whatever reason. These two kids are on record as saying they expect to be in the NCAA tournament next year and sometime in their career's be in a Final Four.
This without a doubt is the most excited I have ever been for the basketball program. With that said, this will be the longest off season in my life. The agony is great enough that I keep rereading posts like this on a daily basis (no offense) to feed my anticipation for next year. All I can say is keep it up and thank you!
