13 year old commits to USC

I personally think its messed up to offer a kid 13 a scholar ship...I don't see a problem with telling him to keep up the good work and in a few years we'll offer but 13???? come on.( on a side note i would have like a scholarship offer at 13)

That's absolutely absurd on so many levels. First, what is Lane Kiffin thinking? Second, why are his parents okay with this? Third, why is this not against NCAA rules? I don't blame the kid here, but I think there is (sadly) a possibility that this is the highlight of his career.

Since Kiffin only averages about 1.1 years at any job he has held, too bad the kid won't get to play for him ... Seriously, this is ridiculous ...

I know this isn't very nice to say, but I'm hoping for epic fail here. I'm not even sure why this rubs me the wrong way but come on, 13?

Why do you care is USC offers this kid a scholarship? USC is taking a risk in making this offer. If this kid stinks they could be stuck with him. The kid is not locked into USC until the day he signs. IT IS A VERBAL COMMITMENT!!! Kids back out of these all the time.

I just don't understand why you would want this kid to fail just because he committed at an early age. If you don't like Lane that is one thing but this kid is not being taken advantage of.
