go back and read the 2014 recruiting thread from start to finish. it's a story of fran going after big fish, missing, then going after secondary recruits, missing, and now it's october and the hawks have bupkis. two trips to the nit don't draw top 100 kids outside of iowa. trying to compete with schools in more diverse or more urban locations for city kids (yes, african american) is tough.

this is still a deep good team through white's senior year. but, fran probably needs two ncaa trips in a row to make this program attractive to top 100 out-of-state recruits -- or maybe a change in some of the staff.

Jeebus, you guys need to take a freakin' chill pill. It's not the end of the world. Yes, this class is weak, but you do know that Fran is allowed to sign a class next year, right? He's also a good developer of talent. Just have some faith and quit freaking out. My gawd.

Edit: Btw, can you tell me what good constantly ******** and whining about it like spoiled little school girls is going to do? Fran and his staff are out on the recruiting trail hitting it as hard as they can. What else do you want? Would you like to have Todd Lickliter back? His recruiting classes were stellar.

In my opinion we should use up one of our scholarships on either Uhl or Miller and also go hard after Josh Cunningham. If Cunningham goes elsewhere we should bank two scholarships for the 2015 class. The 2015 class has the potential to be a big class for us. If Iowa makes the tournament this year and contends for a Big Ten title then we will start to get respect from some top 150 recruits.

Agree, but pretty sure Cunningham is out of the picture now from what I've read.
 
Iowa will be fine, it appears Fran is looking at a PG in case of injury at this point. Someone, Spank, said you need 3 PG's on your roster, I scoffed, but apparently Fran is feeling that way as well. Iowa loses their '3rd' PG this year with the graduation of Marble.

The sky is not falling, Iowa is going to be just fine. Get a PG if that is what Fran really wants and get a couple of big guys to start developing and this class will be just fine. I like how people already are writing off Ellingson.

Vandy is a quality program and LaChance fits there perfectly in their system. Gameday has been there at least twice in the last three to four years, so I have no issues losing him to Vandy. If it was Minnesota, a whole other story.

1. This is a discussion board, people use it to discuss things. Can you tell me what good any of it does?

2. Fran and his staff are trying hard, unfortunately there is no participation trophy when it comes to recruiting. I guess there is, his name is Brady Ellingson.

3. This is a Todd Lickliter class- at least so far. Actually, I don't think Lick ever brought it a reach like Ellingson.

1. You must be a real miserable person to be around if you ***** and complain this much in your everyday life about stuff that you have absolutely no control over or impact on. Get over it, brah. It's not gonna do any good to come on here and **** and moan about it every day, because you sound like a broken record.

2. Can you be any more over-dramatic? I can think of at least a couple bigger stretches. Archie ring any bells, or Bawinkle?

I apologize, I forgot Archie. But Bawinkel and Brommer are good comparisons to Ellingson- as far as recruiting profiles go.

But let's be honest, his home runs have been mostly homegrown. I don't think the state is producing that kind of talent in the 2015 class.

This is a class that should worry Iowa fans.

Where do you people come from? Good Lord, get over yourself! Football is doing well now, so you have to b!tch about a basketball recruiting class that isn't even completed yet?

By all appearances, we are on the cusp of possibly one of the better seasons in probably the last 30 years. But instead of looking forward to that, your response is to be a whiny little girl about one freaking recruiting class.....that isn't even done yet? Maybe you should wait until the hay's in the barn before you get your panties in too much of a bunch.

I know I'm the bad guy in this discussion, but I want to point out that I'm not the one that is using obscenities or personal insults. It doesn't bother me, but I have a feeling I'll end up banned for disagreeing with the majority.

Ellingson is a complete Lick level recruit. His offers are from the Ball State's of the world. Just look at his profiles from ESPN or Scout, I understand rivals has a Missouri offer listed, but the other two do not, and Ellingson never visited- so I think it's safe to say he never had the offer. Brommer, and Bawinkel are good comparisons, Cully Payne was a better recruit, and Little Lick was a walk on. Archie was worse.

I honestly don't remember how Palmer ended up at Iowa, was he an Alford holdout, was he a transfer?
