Koehn miss

I also was watching fans in the stands and no one was cheering or holding arms up like it didn't look clearcut to them.

BTW, I like the idea of a laser attached to posts. Why isn't this utilized?

That thing moved about 10 feet left the last couple feet it traveled. Was just to the right of the post and came in so fast it looked good. Was like a Randy Johnson slider.

As someone has pointed out elsewhere, I believe that is the refs making sure they saw the same thing and are going to make the same signal. Can you imagine if one signalled good while the other no good?

This. The guys are coordinating their signals. They probably have verballed their view of close calls before signalling.

That kick was good. They blew the call. Is it reviewable? It should be.

How do you know? Were you standing under one of the uprights when the ball crossed the plane? Seems like a few hundred fans seated behind the goalpost were pretty sure it wasn't good.

Damn, 3 more style points we missed out on, ref's are screwing us ....;)....my angle was from the north end zone, it looked good to me....hell, I even stood up and signaled field goal (I guess the refs didn't see me do that)

The point is to prevent these problems in the future. There should be better systems in place to keep these problems from happening in the future. If the game was on the line this would be a much bigger deal. It is better to get this problem fixed now before it unfairly tips the balance in a conference or national championship situation.

The fix is to put lasers and fixed camera on the goal posts. I would also look at the rule of any portion of the football flying over the goalposts. For sure a study could be done to determine how much of the goal post does a football touch and still bounce through. I think it would be between 20-33%. At that point the upward pointing lasers would be placed.

If this game depended on those 3 points I would be more mad about this bad call. I still want this problem fixed.

I had no problem with the call after seeing the replay..couldn't have overturned it if they signaled good either..no angle to prove make or miss...nothing definitive to make me mad
Agree. To me it looked like it would have hit the goal posts if they were another 5 ft. taller.

Since BTN had such crappy camera angles, the only think I can go by is the crowd reaction. Since there was none, I must assume it was no good.

Sure would like to hear from someone sitting in the endzone though.

Must have been the perfect storm for a deceiving camera angle. On TV it looked like it was well within the upright from the camera angle. I was completely dumbfounded when they called it no good. Koehn looked completely baffled as well. But as pointed out, the fan reaction supported the miss. Just an odd play.

They need to have electronic "eyes" on top of the goal posts, like they have for the baseline in Tennis. That should help remove any doubt.

Lasers might impede air traffic...

I can see the headline now: "Chopper on way to UI Hospitals Crashes Due to Goal-Post Laser"

Was in North end zone and it looked like it curved back in but couldn't tell if it was just after it went by the goal post.He started to far out to the right.

This happened in a Boise state Nevada game one year where Boise state got upset and knocked out of championship consideration
