Dang. No wonder KF ran a couple fakes last year. Should have a few more with him. I wonder if the Zooker is scouting him as a RB now I think he's in Green Bay as an assistant... Ha

Not sure what your 40 time has to do with making field goals.....if it gets him into a camp good for him.

Ran it as fast as Jerry Rice ran his 40 at his combine. Maybe we should have given him a crack at WR on a few plays.

Maybe he approached the ball too fast on his extra points and that's why he missed so many last year as well.

I think it couldn't mean less for kickers. Look at Janikowski of the Raiders. You and I could do most of the athletic drills better than him and he was a first round draft pick I think. And he's been good for a long time. If you can kick and do it consistently it don't matter to these teams about the rest of it. I just think it's funny that our kicker last year may have been the 2nd fastest receiver we had. I bet T Smith may have been the only one faster than him...

I read he also won $10,000 from adidas at the combine for running the fastest 40 time by a kicker/TE/OL.

I remember him running down a return guy on the sideline last season. At first I thought it was just another Iowa player than I was like "Damn, that's the kicker." They commented on how fast he was then. He seemed to be a pretty good athlete. Makes you wonder where he could have played if not kicking.

really no room for many folks who aren't really good athletes on a D1 football field. obviously including the kickers.

Every rule has its exception.

Apparently Koehn was a big time soccer player before he took up place kicking. Soccer studs ain't slow.
Remember Austin Signor? He was a soccer player in HS too. He was like 6'4 215/220. He may not been as fast as Koehn but I'd say he was plenty as athletic. He really got ripped up more so after he left Iowa but he was always pretty big and athletic.

Koehn was a marvelous player. No one will ever forget his 57 yard kick in the Pitt game that really propelled Iowa to a great championship season
