Apparently, the first 2 rows on the sidelines are being removed. How do you feel about that?

I don't think anyone sat in them anyway.....very difficult to see above the players.

I sat 1st row 50 yard line once about 25 years ago. Prior to the game I was about as excited as I've ever been in my life. Then you get there and it's the worst seats I've had in Kinnick.

I mean, I'm not entirely happy, but I can imagine those seats being pretty bad.

Plus, shouldn't two rows only back them up a few yards? I'd say that's still well within earshot for the fans to give the other team a good ribbing.

The first year we had season tickets we were in the third row 45 yard line behind the visitors bench. You could hear the coaches and the players it was so cool. Guess now that is Ground Zero.

Were those seats held by season ticket holders? If so what happens to them? They are crappy seats because you can't see. In all not a bad idea to make more room on the sidelines for player safety sake.

I did not know this was happening. I sat in the first row for a season. Funnest season I probably ever had. The fans are really into it down there.

The view was great on my half the field. Not so much hope the other half. Still, I'd take those seats again. Especially with the scoreboard they have now.

There was a definite need to widen the sidelines. Two rows will help. And we should still keep our sideline advantages with the fans right on top of the opponents. I'm assuming we will dip below that 70k mark?

That's funny because I sit in row one on the Iowa side and they let me renew those very same seats, so I'd say that is not true. Also once you get to like the 40 yard line the 2 rows of seats were never used from what I recall. Think they were blocked off so no one could sit there.

And Yes I love the first row seats. Very close up when they are at the end I am on. I used to have them directly behind the QB bench when Stanzi was there and then got reseated out during last reseat. Scalper has those now I believe from what I can tell. I was moved down a ways toward the end zone but still ended in first row. I love them for the leg room also. Never putting knees in someone's back. I didn't like them during the infamous monsoon game a number of years back. It all flowed down and could not go down those drains fast enough. Wasn't like we weren't getting wet anyway though. If I couldn't have gotten front row seats, I would have selected south end zone just for the added room.

And yes we stand alot in row 1 to see, but it doesn't bother me. And yes we have to watch video board to see other end action, but when they are at our end that more than makes up for it. The kids love being that close.

West sideline is being removed as well.

Not true about the west side. I renewed for this season for row 1 west side. Between the 40s they have always had the first 2 rows blocked off at least as long as I can remember in recent times.

Are you sure that your row 1 isn't going to be old row 4? Reason I posted that earlier was because a coworker had row 1, 35 ish yard line on the home side and was told he had to move. I've sat in them a few times.

Not saying you're wrong, it was just what I was told. I'll be at the spring game Friday, be interesting to take a peek.

Have you gotten verification on this yet? Not saying you're wrong, genuinely curious. Have a coworker in row 1 home side who's been told he has to move.

Just wondering if your new row 1 is old row 3 or 4.

Yes I have confirmation from the U. Someone has said they are doing this between like the 35 or 40 yard line markers and taking the seats out there. That would make sense. I don't sit in that range. I guess we will see for sure Friday evening if they have started anything on the west side.
