Kinnick Sideline Advantage Taken Away.

Are you happy with widening the sidelines in Kinnick?

good god people...for the last time (I know, that's unrealistically optimistic) they're not moving the stands back 20 feet. Stand up, take 3 steps back. THAT'S IT. The sidelines are still the tightest in the Big Ten, fans will still be right on top of the players. The difference will be negligible. (the front 2 rows have been vacant on the visitor's sidelines for a number of years).

No doubt!

It always cracks me up how some on this site can take an "ant hill" topic and turn it into "Mt. Everest". Trust me, opposing players will STILL hate standing on that sideline on Saturdays....

So was there last night. They have only removed two rows of seats on the east side between the 25 yard lines. They have done nothing with the west side.

I believe the west side is planned to take place now that the spring game is over.

The close sidelines has always made Kinnick Stadium one of the best & unique places to watch a college FB game! I don't think losing a couple of feet, is going to make much of a difference.

If anything, this seems to be more so to be to help out with the media and game personnel getting from one end zone to the other. I used to be on the field for the games in the early 200's and it was nearly impossible for anyone to get from one end of the field to the other...
