I don't think anyone would argue the Rushmore is Banks/Tate/Stanzi/Beathard

I had a conversation with a guy at work who thinks the honorable mention spot goes to Nate Stanley. I think he's full of shit. Gronowski has firmly taken that spot away. He's a leader and a locker room guy who got tough when things got tough. Stanley was not that. Other than the single OSU game he was the opposite of that. And before anyone says MG was only here for a year, so was Banks.

I definitely think Gronk deserves Honorable Mention. I was talking to my son saying how I wished there was some way we could keep him for one more season. I really think he was hitting his stride. You get a full year of a healthy Gronk with a good understanding of the Lester offensive schemes, I think you see much better stats.

That being said, I think many would agree what he lacked in passing, he by far made up with leadership, his running ability, and toughness. Kid is definitely a winner.

I agree with the exception of Stanley. He had some nice bowl wins for us against teams were were underdogs. He was undefeated against ISU as well as a really nice game against #6 OSU. He also did it with Brian as OC which has to be something.
I think Gronowski could take his place with a bowl win but for me Stanley has the nod for now just for that reason.

If Gronowski is Honorable Mention, there's a huge chasm between the 4 QBs Fry listed as Rushmore and Hon. Mention. Banks, Tate & Beathard had wheels AND could throw the ball. Gron demonstrated that for most of this season, he couldn't.

Gron and Stanley without debate will go down in Hawkeye lore as being the best QB sneak QBs in Iowa history, tho!
