Katenda and Olaseni

It might be a sick six alright. Interesting that when we don't get somebody its because our staff was not in there early enough. When did Kruger start recruiting Olaseni? Did not seem to effect Lavin at St. Johns. Fran has been after Katenda before he took the Iowa job.

This could be a very troubling period. There are no indications Iowa is in the driver's seat with anybody, and 2012 locals are not moving quickly either.

My guess is we won't get three more, but likely two and we won't know until well into May. Its all speculation and will be for some time. I hope I am wrong. Its time for a positive change.

Olaseni visiting Oklahoma this weekend. Katenda is visiting ND.

Olaseni has wanted to go to OU and Kruger is going to be a huge pull. Also, have a feeling Katenda is doing Fran a favor by keeping Iowa in the running, but will go another route.

I was thinking Olaseni was coming to Iowa, but now I think we strike out on all the known options.

I'm afraid you might be right. Let's hope something breaks positively. It makes you wonder what this class would look like if Illinois hadn't pulled their offer from Oglesby.

Didn't Kruger hire Olaseni's high school coach or something? I agree that he is Sooner bound.

Very good point.

Archie hasn't put much work into his game, which is my biggest gripe with the guy. I have watched him in the PTL and the dude is invisible outside of grabbing a board or two. He should tear that league up, but instead he looks indifferent on both ends and just exists on the court.

You can make the case from a humanitarian perspective that Archie should be back, but not from a work ethic or results standpoint. Put Cole's heart in that kid's body and you would have a legit big ten player. IF he comes back, I hope McCaffrey gives him conditions like 500 free throws per day and 100 drop steps from each side of the hoop. We don't have the luxury of having "looks good in a warmup suit" guys on the team. Stokes is who I would like to see get Archie's minutes.

If we can get both the sunrise guys, Archie should be gone IMO. This isn't elementary school. He's been giving a prime chance to get his degree for free.

No point in running off Archie(which is something we don't do at Iowa). That would just be a banked scholarship for next year anyway.

Don't run Archie down. If Brommer, yes Brommer, goes down, Archie is you starting center next year since we have no recruits.

If Archie has to be relied on for significant minutes it will be just like watching Palmer have to play. There will be one game here or there, but the team will have to go another route eventually. My expectation would be for the team to go small with BC, Mel, White/McCabe, Marble/May, Gatens.

Things seem to be looking up for Glover and/or Hubbard. I was unaware of the Oklahoma visit for Olaseni. And the ND visit for Katenda on signing weekend is not ideal for us. Those are not good developments.

Hold on tight. It's going to be a fun ride over the next couple of weeks!
