I am not in favor of running kids off, Iowa doesn't need that perception...again. Iowa has two scholarships open and Olaseni cancelled the rest of his visits, for now and Katenda is visiting this weekend. If I recall correctly, Iowa is the only school to have offered both players. When it was announced that Olaseni was visiting, I had a very good feeling about what the end result would be. Xavier offered him and if he doesn't visit there, huge positive for Iowa.
Back to the Archie thing, I don't see how the scholarship wouldn't cover it, there are multiple players that redshirt and are around for five years. Also, Kemba Walker graduated and didn't redshirt, do you think UConn would pull his scholarship since he is a graduate, probably not...I believe they are good for five years, I could be wrong, it could also be an eligibility thing too, sixth year players do happen as well. The flip side of that is they are renewable each year, so the school does not have to honor it if the school so chooses. This is why you see the SEC football schools do what they do, because they can, it isn't totally ethical, but it is within the rules.
Archie has shown some flashes of good at times, except at the free throw line. He has length defensively and is an effective defender against guys that are similar in build. Offensively, he needs a lot of work, but he does run the floor well. My only real issue with Archie is that he doesn't stay healthy.
