Drove by kinnick at night and again the next morning....
all i have to say is:
Damn that place is beautiful.
even in the off season

Soon to be a permanent neighbor of mine....I'll be working less than a mile from it every day!

What did you think of the Herky Hawk on the water tower??

It looked great...i really liked the color scheme. the yellow top of the water tower and the black "legs" of it really looked great but the Herky was the coolest part. they added a tiger hawk on the back side of it too just this past weekend.

And the fact that University of Iowa Hospitals paid for it all is amazing!

The spotlights really make it shine at night too. Hayden's coming back to dedicate it...can't wait.

What's also cool is they painted it in a special 3-D paint. Special viewing glasses will be handed out in the home opener against E. Illinois for the people seated in the west, north and south stands.

What really amazed me was that they managed to find a Hawkeye hat large enough to put on top of the water tower. I'm disappointed that they put it on sideways though.

Univ Hosp and Clinics are going to employ year-round extra security around the water tower so rogue/closet ISUx fans don't climb up and spray paint an animal or something on to the TigerHawk.

Look for the extra $5 charge in this year's ticket prices which will cover the costs.

Also look for special donation vesicles at every entrance....proceeds will 100% go to the "Maintain the Intregrity of the Tower" (MIT) campaign.

Some mild to rigorous protesting at the donation sites is expected by the ISU-supported group known as "Clean Our Watertower" (COW) brigade. Jim Criner is expected to make an appearance.

Assistant chief of pharmacy at the VA.

I always chuckle when I hear "count by five".....well played.

Managed a DrugTown for a several years, I always liked to tease the pharmacists about how easy their job was compared to mine.:) Hope you have a good vacation and an easy move. Congrats!

They're going to fly in Nate Kaeding and attach the old (reassembled) Metrodome goalposts to the tower so he can kick a field goal over the top during the ceremony.

This photo is from 2007, which is why the water tower still appears white.
