Based on her and her spouses facebook page they look like sports fans. Cubs, Blackhawks and Clowns. Didn't the Jury allegedly be picked from non-sports fans?

Are Iowa's attorneys that stupid not to look at the facebook profiles of the people they are selecting?

I'm no lawyer, but this woman could be in trouble herself if this is true. If they interviewed her as a potential juror and she lied about herself, she might be facing legal issues over this.

were the jurors asked if they were sports fans? If so take a look at her facebook pages (if it is still up).

I just went through her timeline for the past year and I would estimate that about half of her posts/pics show her either rooting on ISU or wearing ISU gear. Appears that she is a bigger ISU fan than I am a Hawkeye fan and I consider myself a rather bigtime Hawk fan. Obvious #ConflictOfInterest

I consider myself a pretty big hawk fan but post nowhere near hawk stuff as she posted cyclone stuff. In fact I would say cyclone stuff and sports is a major part of her life.

Attorneys question jurors before deciding whether to challenge them or not. They have a questionnaire the prospective jurors fill out. Attorneys got to ask questions about whatever they want, including if the jurors are sports fans. . No jury ever satisfies both sides. Also, there were two alternates and no one knew who the actual 8 jurors would be I don't think.

If a juror lies on their questionnaire or during questioning by the attorneys they can be charged with juror misconduct. it seems very unlikely that being a Cyclone fan rises to the level of jury misconduct but if she indeed posted she would find for one side before the trial started that is troublesome.......

Give it a rest...you all look so petty. It's like saying the refs caused us to lose the game. If GB would have played the game the right way we wouldn't be having this conversation. Be mad at GB for giving us this black eye, nobody else.

What game is that? You mean running the U of I Athletic Department per the law?

My post was to say that being a sports fan was likely irrelevant to service on this jury. Someone brought up a Facebook post that others are responding to, It does not negate the verdict but if she did post her intention prior to the verdict that is troublesome for her.

Yes, liked your post. I think we are on the same page.

And no matter what anyone thinks of this verdict it really burns me up that the publicity coming from this matter is all negative and could potentially harm recruiting of players and coaches in the future. Perception of how the athletic programs are run is very important and changes need to be made.
