Jon: Who starts at RG

Time to use your influence as the King of all Iowa media and find out who will be playing RG for Iowa on Saturday.

Hard to imagine they don't know who they are going with at this point.

All we know is it isn't going to be either guy on the two-deep from the last reported depth chart.

gotta assume that it is going to be one of the two back ups behind vandevelde - haganman or tobin. won't be gettis, hundermark or koeppel. I'd have said koeppel if he hadn't had that accident.

Yeah, Orne is actually probably the best bet outside of Haganman. If I was Gettis, I wouldn't want to have that guy get comfortable in my spot.

Haganman would be more of a spot filler. Orne might be hard to move out of there once he gets in a game situation.

I think Kirk all but said it will be MacMillan last night, by saying he was one of the seven best.

Sounded like that was the way things were going last year. But the injury in Spring kind of stalled that talk.

Would be nice to get a look at his play in a game situation.

If he was able to come in and play up to his potential. Iowa's line could be really special.

This isn't taking anything away from Gettis. If Mac played to his potential and Gettis was good enough to take his spot back when he got healthy, it would mean Gettis is living up to KF's statement that he is going to be one of the best linemen in the league.

Playing in this game is actually a great situation for McMillan, and for the OL's long-term strength.

A little confused here... are you guys talking about

Maybe I'm missing something completely!

Likely Nolan...and as some have said, had Koeppel been healthy, then he or James perhaps...Maybe an outside shot for Bofelli.

I am guessing, totally guessing here...but perhaps Hundertmark, who was listed as the #2 RG, sees that Gettis is hurt, and the staff sticks someone else at RG for practice, and he wonders what the heck, I am not really the backup, what's it worth, I may as well stay healthy...that sort of thing. I have no idea and certainly don't wish the kid any ill.

I hope it's Nolan. Many good things have been said about him as his redshirt was almost burned last season and it would be nice to have another 300 pound guy on the line. I'm expecting big things from him before he gets drafted.

Where is the official word that Gettis is hurt? I know there has been speculation but I don't recall hearing anything from KF re: Gettis on Tuesday.

Official word was via Hawkeyeinsider posting what he saw on the facebook page of Gettis. Something to the effect of Sorry Hawk fans can't play this week....next week is a different story.
