Jon Miller.

If I simply tell you the answer, you will not have learned anything. You must look deep within yourself through your brain (to reason through the facts) to your heart (to understand the emotional implications) and finally you will arrive the final resting place of your answer, the anus. It is here where the ebb and flow of Greg's offensive prowess thrives and it is here where the answer becomes clear.

Time to flush now!

Best post I've read in awhile, thanks for that one!

Davis is bad... but Ferentz teams are always bad on offense.

So its hard for me to blame OC's... Everyone hated O'Keefe, but now we see clearly that there is much more to it than that.

This is the answer and very few people see the problem is Ferentz. His OC is running what KF wants..Plain and simple. When Iowa has great defenses,it works. Everybody we play knows whats coming. Unless we get the breaks like muffed punts or stupid turnovers, its hard to get out of our own way. The teams we beat and even lost to I would argue we have better talent albeit slightly above MAC talent. The wheel route to Bulluck against Maryland was a thing of beauty, never to be seen again. If he was Parker,he takes it to the house.

I think it's a big misconception that Kurt keeps a tight reign over the anus. I think this is all anus and very little Kurt. You are seeing anus, not Kurt.

Okeefe was able to fit his offense in the grand scheme of things. Davis makes okeefe look like Bill Walsh.

Unless Davis decides to retire on his own I'd be surprised if he isn't calling our plays next year.

The University will have paid Davis approximately $1 million (for 3 years) by the end of this season. $1 million to put a product like this on the field. How can that guy sleep at night?

This is part of the problem. Coordinators in the SEC average over $500k per year. Apparently this is what's available for $300k.

Nope not accurate at all, KOK didn't run this type of Offensive Scheme and never would. So how can you say the OC at Iowa is running what KF wants. It's not that plain and simple. Sure KF has the final say but even he has had to adapt to what GD is doing. Let's be very clear this offensive system is a GD system and I agree that KF has the final say. It has always been a KF problem because he hired GD.

Barring drastic change, Gerg Derpvis has gotta go after the season. Ferentz will then have one last chance to hire a good OC and give him the latitude to run a competent offense.

Kurt fails at that, he gone. That Barta Special buyout gets less onerous with each passing year.

I agree with this, but I think KF is too stubborn to completely give the offense style up. As many have said in the past, Iowa doesn't need to go all Oregon ducks, but there has to be a decent pro style OC out there.

I have a name I'd put at the top of the list. He was at the top of my list (for what little that's worth) since they hired Davis to begin with. Chuck Long.... When he was at OK with Stoops they had that offense rolling. I bet he'd rather be calling plays for Iowa then calling MN games on tv... I know his run at San Diego wasn't that great but the guy can coach qbs and run an offense and could he really be worse??
