Simple yes or no. I understand you run a website that many people including myself love. With all the information you have and all the information you gather from players (former and current). Should Greg Davis be fired/pushed in to retiring?

OK, I'm going to admit it, right here.
I didn't listen to the podcast.
I will promise to attend Church this Sunday and confess my sin.
Hopefully, I'll be forgiven this very grave sin of omission.

Jon hasn't minced words on this all year - he's like any other reasonable observer of the program: Derpvis needs to go.

I have. Simple yes or no on record.

Why is this important to you?

He has said as much, but not explicity. Why isn't that enough??

And why is JM's opinion so important anyway?

Are you a spy for the AD? You going to ban him from ever being in the press box? You in cahoots with the univeristy? I'll bet you're gonna bomb John Wayne's house !

Seeing as how I have more posts than Jon, have almost as much insight into the program, both past and present, and am generally more liked than him as evidenced by my thumbs up/down ratio, I will answer on his behalf.

The answer is yes.

If I simply tell you the answer, you will not have learned anything. You must look deep within yourself through your brain (to reason through the facts) to your heart (to understand the emotional implications) and finally you will arrive the final resting place of your answer, the anus. It is here where the ebb and flow of Greg's offensive prowess thrives and it is here where the answer becomes clear.

Time to flush now!

Even if Iowa gets their act together and has a solid ending to the year I have a tough time thinking Davis may be put out to pasture... Even when they've won it's not so much to his brilliant game planning or play calling so much. Don't get me wrong he's had a few good calls. But his game planning leaves alot to be desired. Most schools run plays to set up something else or expose a weakness of the D they are playing against they've scouted. Well with us when say a play works once in a game they will not attempt it again. (unless it's a 3 yard out or zone running play) Iowa has never ran 2 deep plays in a game have they? I like using the TE strait up the seem and hitting them between the LBs and safety. But they only bust that out every 2 or 3 games. His overall play calling as far as when he calls things just seems to be really random and not trying to expose anything the defense is doing. I get trying to have an identity and all but what is it exactly he's trying to have us be? Sometimes make that most of the time you have to take what the D is giving you and when they are playing up and squatting on the short routes taking shots downfield is what you need to be doing....

Davis is bad... but Ferentz teams are always bad on offense.

So its hard for me to blame OC's... Everyone hated O'Keefe, but now we see clearly that there is much more to it than that.
