Why would a successful coach at a great school such as Wisconsin EVER leave? Because they are never going to get to the top of the mountain there either. They know it. So....geniuses...WHO are you going to get...and WHY are they going to stay after all of these big ten titles that are hanging like 25 lb apples so easy to be picked? Wisconsin is the PERFECT example of why it will forever be a challenge to win consistently. We have a coach that is good and loyal. Turned down the NFL. Any other coach would be gone to better just as soon as he gets traction here. You watch Campbell at ISU. You watch. Wanna set the over under on how many better offers he passes on after 2-3 yrs of mild success in Ames at ZERO? I'll guarantee it. Success at a non-blue blood school is a stepping stone. A resume builder. Same as hs kids. As soon as a michigan, ohio state, alabama, notre dame says hi....HE GONE. YOU would go too. There is no amount of charisma or old spice to overcome that.

Kirk Ferentz makes damn sure his players get a shot at the next level. He makes sure they are team first. He gives a gift of $1MM out of his pocket to the hospital. Not calling you out -- you have legitimate concerns about coaching personnel. Coaching personnel is a coaching decision and that is fair game.
