John Raymon is not Transferring yet

At this time, Raymon is not transferring. There is nothing scandalous or nefarious taking place. I am not in a position to go into details but I can say that as of right now, he is a member of the team and people are in communication

Re: John Raymon is not Transferring

If true, thanks JM. Could of been extremely thin at DL this year.

Re: John Raymon is not Transferring

Plenty of people have a tough time adjusting to the beginning of college.

It's an overwhelming period where a lot of individual responsibility is heaped on you and you don't have "Home" to do nearly as much for you.

Hope everything gets worked out.

I concur with this post..and think this is the heart of it.

I remember my first week at college, and I was certainly not as tough as I thought I was ;)

Re: John Raymon is not Transferring

The title of this post should read "may not be transferring". I have a pretty reliable source inside the walls that told me the staff and family have been in talks to get it worked out, but as of right now Raymon would like to be elsewhere.

this.

so it wasn't that his account was hacked. he's had an emotional time away and he wants a remote control fix. probably closer to home. I can relate.

Re:John Raymon is not Transferring

Right. As of right now there has been no official 'it's over' transfer decision. All parties are talking.

The first few months can be hard trying to acclimate and seeing where you fit in, meeting new friends, etc.

It's a good thing he didn't join the army like thousands of other kids do out of high school. I don't think the army has a homesick clause in their contract.

He should really think about the fact that going to Iowa as a O or D lineman increases your chances of getting into the NFL like trifolds. He has a chance to be set for life with hard work during a couple yrs of "adjustment". Risk vs reward. I hope he really thinks about it but wish him well in his decision.

How can he be transferring? He hasn't even gotten through his supply of clean underwear yet.

Again, wouldn't be a surprise. Iowa has a very, very very, slim record with retaining big D line recruits.

The attrition list is remarkable with some not making it through their first summer.

Raymon would just be another on a long, long list.
