In the same vein as H-Walker I can see a lot happening based on a lot of variables, most of which are unknown ...
-- I could see this being like those jaw-dropping W's of previous years. Remember the ones against good MSU, Wiscy and even NwU teams - where there's all sorts of uncertainty and angst about the Hawk's early season struggles, only to see them come out and just obliterate them?
Something tells me this could be Iowa's "break-out" game, along the lines of 44-7. Stokes the fire of finally seeing a preseason expectaion worthy performance (only to see them come out and trip all over their dicks against Minny and Purdue, etc)
-- On the other hand, I could just as likely see Thorson finally have his own Heisman game and the Cats continue their growth with a solid win (30 - 24), while Iowa continues to flop on the rocks.
-- I see it depending on whether derKirkFeravis insists on running single back sets into Fitz's 8 man box or if New Kirk finally takes off the shackles on CJ and Davis so they can get creative in adapting the scheme to personnel and strength.
If they're gonna run the ball, it better damn well be out of a fortified backfield of constant I-formations + twin TE's and power I with lots of quick pitches and sweeps behind a wall of big uglies. Anything less and Iowa gets stuffed.
I'm gonna go ahead and try to believe that New Kirk wakes up from his coma, CJ decides it's time to show some swagger and make some plays, the DL and OL settle into some consistent competence and toughness, while dumping the stupid self-destructive crap, Davis works some short-game magic to overcome the loss of Vandeberg, guys like Snyder and Smith and Taylor and Bower get their sh!t together and some of those newbies seize the opportunity ... Hawks 34 - Fightin' Fitzgees 24.
