Jeff Brohm

Keep in mind that he's just saying that the report is false. That doesn't meaning he's staying at Purdue.

He better stay at Purdue now, what’s the point of saying this if you aren’t now totally committed to Purdue. He will look like an ass if he accepts this Louisville position now or even 3 months from now, just my take.

I remember one time being in an extremely hungover state, perhaps it was January 1, 2005 and the Iowa level bowl games were on early in the morning. I swear I heard one of the commentators in the pre-game say "This will be Kirk Ferentz's last game with Iowa because he will be announced as the Jaguars new head coach" or something along those lines. There is a race to break a story and if it's just one guy saying it, it might still happen but terms probably haven't been finalized yet or whatever. He might also have Ferentz's agent and is trying to get a raise.

Come on! You're making shit up now. No respect? They were #4!!

And they got to 9-0 thru miracles!

If you need 2 blocked game-winners to beat UNI, how much respect do you deserve?

Oh, and that "good" Arizona team went 8-5. They ended up unranked after getting blown out in their bowl by Pelini's Huskers. Michigan? Lost 7 of their last 8 to go 5-7. Not exactly signature wins.

So, you may want to give Iowa a pass for losing 4 games this year by an average score of 4 points. The argument that Iowa is a bad football team just does not make sense. And, yes, I am just as frustrated as everyone else. But, I am not down on the team.

Not sure what ball games you've been watching, but after watching him outcoach the Ferentz Family Brain Trust the past two seasons, this is excellent news for the Big Ten. That #4 kid that they have playing the slot is a mark of a program that has probably resorted to "morally questionable" recruiting tactics and if Brohm had stayed there for 5 years, they could have gotten scary good.

Spoken like a true "as long as everyone sucks more than me, in our division and we get the shittyest cross over in Rutgers" I'm good

Does the media really make that much by breaking a story like this? The amount of followers dakich earn over this really worth not waiting until the weekend before the 26th?

You are seriously smoking some tainted ditchweed if you don’t think this is good for Iowa . This guy abused us two years in a row. You think Hayden cared if the Iowa ST. rivalry was a good rivalry? You think he cared if it benefited the state? He wanted them to be so bad so he could play his 3rd stringers by the second quarter. You never want teams you are competing with for recruits to be good. If you do you have no concept of competition. In a pendulum somebody has to be up and somebody has to be down. We want Iowa to be down? We actually want the other 13 teams in the league to totally suck. That way Ferentz can accomplish something Hayden did 3 times. Win this league outright . Worrying about the perception of our league? You can’t control that, only thing the Hawks can control is what happens on the field.

Different sport, but remember when Lickliter was on the hot seat and Izzo was like "guys, come on, Lick is an excellent coach - you should keep him around." You're spot on about perception. You can't control it, so don't worry about it. Plus, I think ESPN drives a lot of the "perception" and they are in bed with the SEC and starting next year the ACC. They have a vested interest in hyping up those conferences and a program like Iowa is not going to earn respect no matter how good the rest of the B1G is perceived to be until Iowa consistently wins huge bowl or playoff games, and that ain't gonna happen.

Plus if the the other 13 schools were horrible and Iowa was the only decent team in a power Five conference where do you think the four star and five star recruits from the Midwest region would want to go? You never want your competition to be good. EVER. If we were the Ohio st of the big ten we would be competing with Clemson and Alabama . We can’t compete if we constantly lose to the other schools in other facets of competition

Thank goodness. I agree the West needs to regain some respectability, but I can't say I'll miss one of the few guys to make Phil Parker look like a clown in recent years.

Yeah the replays of this years Purdue game especially from the end zone showed exactly how Brohm and OC attacked our safeties with receivers to get other one on one matchups. I mean this is basic passing game progression and planning but BF and KF hardly ever get receivers deep enough to tie up a safety.

I must be missing something; how is Louisville a better coaching gig than Purdue? Lower academic standards, less stringent recruiting guidelines, more money, all the above?

all of the above. Here's your best indicator; Rick Pitino coaches there.
