Jeff Brohm

Wow! Not surprised the school. I'm sure that has been in the works for some time. Poor Purdue. They get a piece of meat dangled in front of their faces for a season and a half then swiped away.

Bummer for Purdue and the Big Ten if true.

Not sure what ball games you've been watching, but after watching him outcoach the Ferentz Family Brain Trust the past two seasons, this is excellent news for the Big Ten. That #4 kid that they have playing the slot is a mark of a program that has probably resorted to "morally questionable" recruiting tactics and if Brohm had stayed there for 5 years, they could have gotten scary good.

Excellent speculation based on nothing.

The guy won at Western Kentucky. He can coach and recruit.

The Big Ten, particularly the West Division needs to be better and losing one of the better coaches is not good for the league. You do remember the program under Hope and Hazell, right? You don't get any credit for beating awful teams like that.

Great, great coach. He will do very well at Louisville. I wish he was coming to Iowa. It is time for Ferentz to retire. 20 seasons is enough

Yeah, totally nothing. Watch the kid. Look at his offer list. Third tier programs like Purdue don't just land kids like that. It's like when Hugh Freeze was at Ol' Miss.

You don't get any credit for beating awful teams like that.

You know what else you don't get credit for, Rob? Losing to a decent or good Purdue team. Give me a win over a crappy Purdue team over a loss to a good one any day, bud.

Moore went to Purdue because of Brohm, his brother and their family's name in Louisville. If you're going to spew this nonsense, at least do some research, BUD.

And I guess we should want bad coaches at all the other Big Ten West schools. Excellent logic, BUD.

You are one smart cookie.

Thank goodness. I agree the West needs to regain some respectability, but I can't say I'll miss one of the few guys to make Phil Parker look like a clown in recent years.

No need to capitalize, BUD, pal.

Anyway, yes, yes we should want bad coaches in the Big Ten West. Not sure if you know this, but college football is a zero sum game. For every win, there is a loss. No one nationally says "welp, Iowa finished 8-4 but they are as good as a 12-0 team because they lost 4 close ones to good coaches in the rough and rugged Big Ten West."

No, the idea is to win against strong teams in what would be a strong division, PAL. Wanting all the other teams in the West to suck is flawed logic, at best, PAL. Iowa needed to go 13-0 in '15 to make the playoff with a soft schedule.

BTW, I deleted your Obama post in another thread. I see that political shit again and you're gone.

I'm with OK4P on this one. Give me the W, every time, if the choice is binary. I felt a lot better the week before and the week after the Hawks beat up on a Hazell team than I did the past 2 years about Brohm's teams. But, then, I can be superficial.

What? The picture of Pajama Boy? That wasn't political, that was what I look like when I go to my happy place watching old game highlights.

People are unfortunately blind to the reality of the modern landscape. Iowa will have to go undefeated or only lose to a Michigan/OSU top 10 team to have a chance at the playoff. In no world does 11-1 Iowa look as appealing as 11-1 Texas, Oklahoma, Bama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami, VA Tech, UCLA, USC, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, etc. Programs with more prestige points are going over Iowa.
