It’s going to get much worse

Lol,
Good answer!
Hawkeye football will take years to recover when Ferentz hangs it up. Getting a big name to come here will be almost impossible because with the addition of the PAC 12 schools and the divisions going away, winning at Iowa will be next to impossible.

I’m holding out hope that they fire the line coach and move Brian there and hire a competent OC. He can’t possibly do worse than the current guy.
I am ok with the idea of making a change, but taking stage four cancer from the toe and putting it in the kidney isn’t a wise idea. Extract all!!!! It the only way to heal the patient!

As much as the future is grim for the offense, we are still 6-2 and control our own destiny up until the conf championship which at that point the destiny thing gets overruled by reality. Find a way to win for the rest of our schedule, that will be fun to watch either way and we get a decent bowl. I hope we can find our way there and the AD then takes care of the offensive problem that we have. Brian is no longer in that role, no QB coach, no running game coach. Offensive line/TE coach or bye bye imo.

Iowa is 11-3 over the last calendar year, if you think this is bad, I'll check back in once we add 4 programs that are all better than Iowa to the conference.
Lol,
That’s three games we couldn’t afford to lose.
Lol,
As funny as that sounds, in a way it’s true. With our defense we are just an offense away from being an Alabama!

Kirk is the smartest dumb coach I have ever seen.
Lol,

I had a math teacher in Belle Plaine, Iowa who would always say to his students when the light went on and they figured out the solution;

“That’s it!” Said the blind man to his deaf wife as he handed her the hammer.

Thanks, D.A.

I was done early in math class and he would give me his tardy slips and I would draw one clip cartoons one page at a time. Then as you would flip through the pad the cartoon character would move just like watching a movie. He and the cute girls liked it so much he started giving me all his tardy pads to make more.

One time I drew a stick person holding a football and another stick guy waiting to kick the ball through a field goal post off in the distance. The stick guys ran up to kick the ball but instead kicked the other stick person and all of the sudden you see the stick guy that was holding the ball flying through air and through the goal post. You then see the stick person doing the kicking saying “oops, sorry!” then the football slowly falls over to the ground.

It was funny as hell! Everyone loved it that saw it! It was a lot of hard work slowly and meticulously drawing every page exactly right just like single film clips. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed watching everyone laugh as they would flip through the backside of the tardy slips.

I love Kirk and hate him at the same time. Good grief coach, roll the dice on offense. “If you build it (an offense) they (play off births) will come!!!”

How appropriate that, that movie was made in Iowa.

Leaving Cedar Rapids tomorrow and flying home . Man was everyone at our party in rural Williamsburg upset when they waved off that tremendous run back at the end of the game.

There were a few colorful adjectives being tossed around directed toward the officials.

It is going to get worse for Iowa football, I think a lot of people have been saying that for a while now. I don't think it really matters who the coach is and it's being driven more by the changing landscape of our conference.
But with the changing landscape ya cant have a coach with antiquated logic, tactics or scheme. I think that is what people are saying.

I don’t think it is the doom and gloom everyone thinks it is. They can continue to win 8 or 9 games a season and every 3,4,5 years challenge for a B1G title. That being said, there are some tough decisions that need to be made by the Ferentz family and hopefully they start making these decisions in January.
Sorry, but can you define "every 3, 4, 5 years challenge for a Big Ten Title" we've challenged for the west, which will soon be extinct as we know it. With the exception of the MSU title game we've not challenged for anything in terms of a Big Ten Title. We've made it to the championship game, but I'd use the term "challenged" very loosely as the talent gap between the best in the east and the best in the west is far from close.

We absolutely have to eject BF and make a big hire for the OC. Without it recruiting will be the worst ever, and the decline will be longer and recovery further away. Time to take out the garbage and clean up the mess.
As painful as it is for me to say it if we want to change things on offense that change has to come at the top and not just the OC spot. I'm not in agreement with this ideology yet, but I don't see change being eminent in the revival of the offense as it's clear that offense will always be secondary to defense and special teams under KF.

The KFz era is not going to end well
Unfortunately. That seems to be the way things are going. The likely hood of him being carried off the field after winning a BIG title or playoff game sure doesn't seem likely...

Better chance of losing to Vanderbilt in a who cares about it bowl game 12-6 then something positive.

Yes, agree somewhat and don't know if Kirk has it in him at this stage. You can really value the D highest yet still put your best foot forward on offense, which Kirk obviously has not done. He would need an intervention. Friends, co-workers, AD, University President all plan it and gather and express their concern for Kirk and show him the problem that he cannot see. You can still be head coach, still have great D. But it is time for an offense Kirk.................

"Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldn't end."

I never trust quote attribution on the internet (following the advice of Lincoln), but someone said that at some point, and there is a ring of truth to it.

I've never been satisfied at the last episode of any show I've watched. Those all end badly to me. The good ones always leave you wanting more.

Don’t really disagree. I would like to amend many of the statements made about the lack of balance between east and west and rather just admit that the long term blue bloods, 3 of them, create the real imbalance. Know what? That is power 5 football across conferences.

Just for fun, put M in the west, OSU in the East , and PSU in the ACC. Nothing changes in the BT.
